Hey, when I started the post it's not about an attack on Barry Manilow. It's about getting the Journey track on UK radio so the UK public can have something to compare it to which in my opinion is far superior. The UK doesn't know Journey like you guys over the pond so it's missed out in the main.

Go to www.bbc.co.uk/radio2 and tell em to play the Journey version which is just plain better. Manilow does his stuff well and he's done some great easy listening stuff over the years, Open Arms is not done well. Steve Perry is a one-off and I admire people for having a shot at doing his stuff but the bar is just too high for most to do him justice and this is a case in point. The problem in the UK is most folks aren't aware of Journey and will think this is a Manilow original when the actual original has never had airplay. T

I'm listening to BBC 2 over the net right now. I don't mind Barry singing it, open Arms fits him to a T where as I'd rather never hear Journey sing it again. I believe "Who's Crying now" did much better on the British Charts than that sappy ballad ever did.

KOST, here in L.A. plays WCN everyday and OA only occasionally, thank god.

Whatever, I give in. Long live Manilow if that's your preference you enjoy. I'd sooner have Journey any day of the week but what the hell maybe someone can get him to cover some Zep stuff too and you'll have Manilow paradise, no doubt.

Barry Manilow was good in the early yrs. I guess I just tired and if he is gay WHO CARES? Should I just forget about Elton his costumes and the music that lasts 38yrs? Yes,I was hooked in 1970 when he pushed all the Bealtes immatators off the stage for the Led Zep, Rolling Stones and Aerosmith . Should I forget about Freddie Mercury and the music of Queen?
