New Song by Fellow Journey Fan - FeedBack Requested

Postby ADALBL » Mon Mar 30, 2009 12:26 pm

Hey Folks,

I'm a long time reader of the Journey forum here at MelodicRock.com. You guys always keep me entertained and so let me start by saying thanks for all the laughs.

I've just finished a new song demo - Simple - that I would really like to get some feedback on. Here's are the links:

http://www.broadjam.com/transmit/index. ... yhgbndsq=1 or
http://robertocerini.com/index.php?pname=Music --> Just click play on the music player for the song "Simple"

This song is a classic power ballad with some really amazing lead guitar work by Roberto (see below) for all you Neal Schon fans out there. Roberto is a fan of Neal's.

Some real quick background. I've been a Journey fan since I first heard "The Voice" - back in the Infinity days. In fact, it was Journey's music that made me want to write and record. I've actually gotten song demos to Jonathan Cain (while he was working on his first solo record) and received a hand written note back that politely rejected them. I didn't actually think he needed songs but the guy who was helping me at the time insisted I send them anyway.

In terms of the song itself, here are the credits:

Music and Lyrics: Eric Sierka (www.ericsierka.com)
Vocals: Eric Sierka
Guitars: Roberto Cerini (www.robertocerini.com)
Piano: Eric Sierka
Keys: Steve Cocchi
Bass: Scott Pustilnik
Drums: Programmed by Eric Sierka, Roberto Cerini, Steve Cocchi

The only artist above with major label experience is Scott Pustilnick who was the bass player in a band called Familiar 48 that was signed to MCA Records for a while. I can tell you this much, Roberto, Steve, and Scott are all very talented musicians and terrific, nice guys. We have not formally formed a band yet, but Roberto and I have already begun working on new tunes and I have a good amount of material written.

I would really appreciate any feedback - good or bad - so be honest. I would be especially interested to know if this song interests you in hearing more. I do have rockers and mid-tempo songs ready to record as well.

In any case, thanks so much for taking the time to listen. Keep up the great Journey chatter... and let's hope we all get some new music from "The Voice" soon.

Take Care...

Thanks for posting that. I liked it. Eric has a hell of a voice. The guitar work in that is great also. Loved the guitar harmonies at the one point in the song.

Welcome to the madhouse. ;)

Eric has a great voice and Roberto plays well. If they can't write then they are dependent like many AI 's who just fade away. IF they get lucky like Michael Johns and have David Foster they could have a career.
