"Let It Take You Back" and Journey 2009

Postby Gideon » Tue Mar 31, 2009 9:23 am

This isn't some deep philosophical thread with a point, or anything, but a mere question:

How many of you would like to hear "Let It Take You Back" this year, live?

I, unlike an old fart such as yourself, didn't even exist in the time period to which this song refers. And I like it.

It's a lot better than the new FitH and that craptastic song by Kid Rock, butchering an equally craptastic song by a terrible band.

To get this poll started, my answer is clearly "hell yes." But I shall vote for the only credible option, which is "Gideon, you're sexy."

I'd like to hear it. Great concert anthem. Crunchy guitar opener, good solos, fun lyrics.

Agreed.

Kid Rock's shit anthem was written along similar lines (though inferior in every way), and it was huge. Makes me think the audience would appreciate it. Nice good melodic rock feel to it.

But this poll was a trick, you see. You should say "hell yes" but vote "Gideon, you're sexy."

Way to go...

I'd like to hear it as well. As with some of the other Revelation tunes I have a feeling that it would be better live. Wildest Dream and Never Walk Away are both far superior live as opposed to the album.

I'd pass.
I can't get past 10 seconds of it without thinking "meh" or "filler".
There are better songs to take its slot, methinks.

This one and "What it Takes To Win" are THE dumbest Journey lyrics ever.
WITTW sounds like it's from Iron Eagle XV or something.
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

Press the HQ Button- gotta be THE clearest boot video I've ever seen. How could they get away with taking this?
HOW the F*** can people argue with this? Ugh...

Wish there was a decent way to get the audio from these.

For me, Neal's guitar sound on this song alone is worth the price of admission. Crunchy, vintage, acoustic doubled. Great sound from the early Perry days.

Too bad there's that one spot where Neal plays outta key. It's nice to see the guy liking what he's doing these days. He cracked a smile a few times there. Also nice to see him off of the PRS's. I hated his sound with those.
Cain... never smiles.

I think the 3 they open with there are GREAT choices. They're all pretty UP tunes.
