Stand Up (Before It's Too Late) - the bridge part...

Postby swataz » Fri Apr 03, 2009 10:38 am

OK, not one of my favorite songs from FTLOSM, but the bridge part - "Sorrow, sorrow, etc..." is probably one of the finer points of that CD...take a listen at around 2:47 to 3:10...the power even in his 'raspy era' is amazing....

That is one I didn't pay that much attention to until I heard it live on a FTLSM boot, like how it comes across live. Then went back and had more of a listen on studio cd. I'll have a look for it and upload it here.

I love that song, an incredible vocal performance. I love Perry's sound on that album.

I like this song (and there are some SP/Journey songs I don't like).

Can the breathing be part of his "emoting" style for this song?

I love his singing, but this one doesn't grab me so much. I just don't care much for the song, I guess.

To each his/her own I suppose. I actually don't love the song, just admire his chops in that particular part.

WRONG. His voice sounds great. Seasoned and mature. Still with killer chops.

It's a subjective topic. No one is automatically right or wrong.

Well, um....for what it's worth...

I like the sustain on the word "heart" from the Bridge to "Listen To Your Heart".

My second favorite vocal moment on FtLoSM. Good call.
