In the last three games of 2008, all losses, Cutler threw two touchdown passes and four interceptions. The Broncos had a three-game division lead with three games left and didn't make the playoffs.

The Patriots also went 11-5 and missed the playoffs.. what's your point? This is an ultimate team game, and Denver was just a BAD CLUB in a BAD division that got bitten (just like the Jets.) There was too much pressure for Cutler to perform and his team practically gave up, shut down, and just wasn't good enough to finish a 16 game season. Can't blame Cutler, but I know.... that's the easy thing to do.

So now that Brady Quinn and Jason Campbell have also been subjects of trade talks without their knowing, what do you think they should do? I think they should work even harder to impress their coaches and teammates this year.

I'm SURE they were notified of this trade by SOMEONE. Like I said, Campbell is a rag-doll in Washington, and Quinn isn't even named the starter of ANYTHING thus far. Regardless of their situation, they need to keep impressing, or need to impress even when they are starters because they have shown us squat. Cutler was named starting Quarterback for 3 seasons, is praised around the league for his attributes, and was believed to be their franchised Quarterback from the get-go. He was told one thing, and this new guy comes in and does another.

We both have valid points, and I really don't have anything else to say because I've said all I needed in this Cutler/Denver talk. We will find out sooner of later what teams benefited from this.

In other news, Plaxico Burress released from the Giants.

Here's how a pro handles the situation.

The critical question the morning after the debacle is whether the Washington Redskins have alienated Jason Campbell the way the Denver Broncos did Jay Cutler a month ago. Do we think Campbell is going to publicly snub his owner and coach, perhaps blow off a couple of weeks of team workouts, maybe pout and demand a trade?

Here's one of many reasons the Washington Redskins should be overjoyed Campbell is their quarterback. When Campbell's coach called him at 7:30 yesterday morning, Campbell answered the telephone. Jim Zorn didn't have to wait 10 days for his quarterback to return a message.

"I answered the phone," Campbell said, "and Coach Zorn said to me, 'Come meet me at the office.' I did, and we had a long talk. I told him: 'Coach, if you support me through this, I'll be fine. Even if they get rid of me, there will be no hard feelings between you and me.' And he said, 'Jason, you and I can do a lot of good things together.' He told me he'd be there for me all day. And believe me . . . that went a long, long way on a day like today."

While Snyder and Cerrato signaled to everybody that they didn't think Campbell was good enough for them, you know what he did? "I still went and worked out," he said. "My teammates said, 'Jason, why are you here?' And I told them: 'I'm still the quarterback of this team until they get rid of me. You haven't seen the best of me. I'm not here for ownership. I won't miss days working out with you, and I won't miss time preparing for the season. Who knows? A trade may not work out.' "

Yeah, but it's safe to say Campbell has limited options compared to Cutler. Campbell isn't good enough to say, "trade me." Cutler obviously is.

Again, Jason Campbell wasn't the main culprit, and WAS notified of reports of him on the trading block, and he understood that. That's part of the business, we get that. But to say McDaniel's did NO wrong in not letting Cutler know of this from the beginning, and then holding Cutler responsible for reacting the way he did? Can't blame Cutler for not wanting to be elsewhere and wiping his hands with that. Campbell HAS to react like that to this situation because, he has no stock. I believe there was AT LEAST 20 teams interested in Cutler right off the bat. If Campbell is on the market, something tells me he won't get more than 4-5 teams (probably in need of a backup) at his door-step.

It's a shame the business side has to come out in pro sports, but this is the way it is, and I don't blame Cutler for being treated like a thief. Plus, I hate McDaniel's, he has a 'please punch me' face.

And in case you have forgotten, in the 4th quarter of ALL 2008 games(not just a few) Cutler threw 11 touchdown passes and 2 interceptions. The defense SUCKED.

Cutler is a franchise stud. The best young QB in the league.

Campbell has no choice. He has no leverage whatsoever. His biggest problem is he's stupid and can't learn plays or make more than one read in pass coverage. He's a nice guy, but an NFL backup.

Cutler will have two things he didnt in denver. A running game , and a decent defense. The remaining question is,
will there be anyone to catch the ball????

I wouldn't say the running game behind is too strong, nor the outside around him. But, with a Quarterback who can gun it down field, and if they can address some of these things in the draft.. then the whole picture takes pressure off of not only the receiving core, but the defense as a whole. If the addition of Cutler can some how make them respect the pass game, then maybe they can run the ball efficiently, thus opening up the pass game and having a balanced attack and that can compliment a decent defense into a good one. That's what this addition does to Chicago, and is why they gave up high draft picks overall.

I'm not sure what their salary cap room is like but, if it's possible, the Bears should go and try to sign Plaxico Burress. That is, of course, unless that dickhead is looking at jail time for shooting himself. This guy makes Dick Cheney look like a fucking marksman.
