Album Discussion---"Time3"

this boxset was released right around the holidays back in 1992 and was definitely a very well done one also.it had plenty of hits, ouutakes, rare live material and a nice color booklet with rare photos and the story of journey pretty much up to that point.material is included from every single album the band did including before perry.i was very happy with the rare stuff such as natural thing and other songs that were b-sides or soundtrack stuff.very well done but i did notice a couple tunes that could've been added but overall very nice.

favorites are natural thing, too late and happy to give.

Brilliant compilation. My second Journey buy after I picked up the greatest hits. Bought Time3 to sample the other tracks on the other albums. The 3rd CD blew me away, great stuff there. Nice booklets, and insight of the band when they were in their prime and peek. Time 1, 2, 3 is Journey in a nutshell.

The quintessential boxset. Into Your Arms is probably my favorite arrangement on the album. It's a shame Perry denied their request to record lyrics on it in the early 90's. He was too busy doing nothing I guess. There's a cool demo of him throwing some lyrics together, but a polished version of this song could have been a big hit.

The boxset pretty much covers all of Journeys's major and minor hits from 78-87. It also includes alot of unreleased songs, which is very cool, and music from Journey before Steve Perry. Very interesting to hear the change in sound, when Perry came to the helm. For me this is a must have for any Journey fan. The booklet alone, is very cool, and has alot of interesting information. Time 3 is probably my favorite set of albums.

Ahhh, I believe Time3 is what brought Red13JoePa on board as a fan. Along with E5C4P3 and Frontiers, this is a must-have for any Journey fan.

Yeah, I was about to say, the album is worth just "With a Tear." Really ass kicking song. "Into Your Arms" was the power ballad-esque one, which I didn't like so much.
'Nothing was bigger for Journey than 1981’s “Escape” album. “I have to attribute that to Jonathan coming in and joining the writing team,” Steve Perry (Feb 2012).'

You sure you got those the right way round G?
'Into your arms' is the rocker. It kicks serious booty.

Right you are...lot to bite off for a casual fan looking to figure things out...
my older brother had it right at release time I spun it for the hits but the read the booklet and kept going, "aw shit, I gotta hear that! Velvet Curtain is track #....." So then of course got my own, it's the reason boxsets were invented and if I found a 1-milimeter scratch on, say, D2 right now, or a smudge in the liner notes on pg 17 I'd be driving to FYE w/in 2 minutes.
