Scott

Oh wow! I thought poltiical correctness would keep him around a bit longer. I think he is a nice guy, but have always thought they were over estimating his singing ability!

Agreed, he really isn't top 10 caliber and was stuggling with his songs,he reminded me of a lounge singer on the last couple shows.

I hope Scott gets a record deal. If nothing else, Muzak would probably sign him just for the PR boost.

Scott & a record deal? No thanks...the guy's an ok singer for a youth group or a church, maybe in the christian rock world...maybe. And with all due respect to the guy...those eyes were freaking me out the last couple of performances. wow...

This is just one of the best seasons I've witnessed.

Even the worst ones aren't THAT bad. lol

Same here. This is the only season that I look forward to see every Tuesday. Some real good talents there.

We don't get this show until Thurs and Friday nights so I am behind you guys - but having read a few posts back, I know who goes home on tonight's show.
I agree with that decision.
He was way out of his league IMO.

Everyone knows how I LOVE Adam - but he was not my favourite this week.
I hated that last note, and I hated hearing him almost gulping air between words. He even sucked in air mid sentence at one point! And I HATE that!
So, I am gobsmacked that Simon chose this week to give him a standing ovation.

Simon never ceases to amaze me - his lack of musical knowledge is a disgrace. He clearly did not recognise The Search Is Over.

I didn't enjoy Lil, Kris, Matt, Scott or Danny very much this week.

I thought Anoop's voice sounded lovely this week but the star of the week for me was ALISON!

That kid has blown me away since day one and I have never understood why she was always in the bottom three.

Her interpretation of that beautiful song was just fabulous. For sixteen year old vocal chords she has an incredibly meaty sound to her voice.

Here endeth the sermon of Chairman Suze.

I agree Suze. I didn't think Adam was as extraordinary as he usually is, but still leagues above the other guys; but that little Allison is just amazing. The rockier verison of "I Can't Make You Love Me" was amazing. The studio version is pretty incredible too.

I don't know who they've got producing those studio tracks for the contestants, but whoever it is, they are incredible.

At least we judge fairly. :)

I haven't seen the elimination show yet, but please tell me Alison wasn't in the bottom three again? Surely the voters have seen sense now?

The studio version of Mad World is much better than the live performance - quite beautiful, actually.

Said that since day one. He's a youth choir singer.
Felt the same way about Archuleta last year, but his youth & cuteness got him by.

Btw, anyone notice how much SM & Cain look alike? Go back to the ROR days - similar look, same hair.

Not a clue - I was just browsing the official Idol forums (those people are NUTS!) and most of the talk seems to be about movie songs. I guess either way - Adam could do a Queen song  .

I think that Adam is great and if they do Queen, I'll bet he does Bohemian Rapsody. He has the control that the song demands.
I would rather see Allison win Idol tho. She is such a natural for being so young and can only get better with an Idol win. I think that we have already seen the best of Adam and imo, I think that his attempts at the extremes, might be boring after awhile. I could be wrong.

I thought he might go for "Seven Seas Of Rye" - he could really rock musical it up.

I wonder how the song choosing works?

I mean with such a HUGE genre as Motown there ought to be something to suit every voice.

But with songs from Queen, which may have a more limited choice what happens if several people want to do the same song?

What if they all did their own take on the SAME song? Would that bore us or would that be a good idea?
Hmmmmmmm.

Yes he would do a great job with that - but too predictable I think - it has been done by other contestants. A couple I think would be good:

Urge Overkill version of Girl, You'll Be A Woman Soon (and it is from a Tarantino movie)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rg0Hhmm07VM

Uninvited (he'd probably get props for singing a song made famous by a female - they seem to like that)

Oooh, "Uninvited"! Yes. I do that song when we get drunk and go karaokiing.

Another one from a movie that would be cool, and this is OBSCURE, it's called "Prisoner", by Barbra Streisand. It's from an old moved called "Eyes Of Laura Mars".

It's a great song.
