Good vintage GnR there. Tonight Show in '88? Where was Johnny Carson?

Bringing out the "crazy" haunting reminds me of this great old classic.

How about some haunting quality in the voice?

To me Elvis singing Blue Spanish Eyes has that quality...

When I was a child my mom used to listen to Marty Robbins and I always thought there was a haunting quality to his voice ...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxAQwMNXlic

I always thought Roy Orbinson had it in his voice too...

This version isn't as "haunting" but the fact that the great Stevie Ray plays makes it notable. One ominous note though, at 00:18 right after Stevie Ray is shown playing, a helicopter is featured in the distance. Random but for any SRV fan its a weird shot.

LOVE this song! Not exactly sure I'd call it haunting, though. "Forever Autumn", sung by Justin Haywood definitely is though - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CO9Qx7Kp_I8
Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!

One of the Best Ones - Bruce Cockburn
http://www.last.fm/music/Bruce+Cockburn ... ?autostart

Guess I'd get along without you
If I had no choice
It's taken me this long to find you

Done a lot of getting ready for this
Some things we learn so slow
But look at you, you've got plenty behind you

There's lots of ways to hit the ground
Not many answers to be found
We're faced with mysteries profound
And this is one of the best ones

There are eight million mysteries
In the naked body
Can't even sight on some distant horizon

Like the nine billion names of God
Don't bring you any closer
To anyone you can simply set eyes on

But in the same way it's as real
Don't always recognize what I feel
But of the dancing scenes that life reveals
This is one of the best ones

Say what you will
There's no snake oil or pill
Can make love less painful or fine
There's no theatre
Even of the absurd
Can express what goes on in this meeting of hearts and minds

Guess I'd get along without you
If I had no choice
But please never make it so I have to

Paid a lot of dues to get here
And after all this life
I'm a loser if I don't live with you

There's lots of ways to hit the ground
Not many answers to be found
We're faced with mysteries profound
And this is one of the best ones

I love Bruce Cockburn. He played our summer festival here a few years ago - ran into him coming out of the grocery store. I kinda did a double take when I saw him, so he stopped and said 'hi, how are you? ' and I probably blubbered something unintelligible, can't remember

I find a lot of ELO's songs have a 'haunting' quality to them.

I love ELO. They got a bad rap when the studio dubbed over the VHS for Live at Wembley, making people think they lip synced. Luckily the concert was re-released on DVD minus the dubbing audio track. They're another group snubbed by many.

You're welcome, good track. I don't follow A.I. so I hadn't heard that. I think its a Tears for Fears tune originally. I should pull up some more Tears For Fears, I think something off their first album should be pretty good.

This is the only clip of this song I can find............http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kUz9gRGTcvk

It's called Moon On The Rain and sung by Eddie Reader [Fairground Attraction]
There's a beautiful line in it where her lover has promised to put a string of lights round her heart.
I just love it.
She is walking down the embankment of the Thames and there are garlands of lights along there.
Lovely voice, very underrated singer I think.

I think anyone who likes Mandolin Rain by Bruce Hornsby will probably like this.
