If Perry Releases New Material - Will He Tour?

Postby Voyager » Wed Apr 15, 2009 5:15 am

I realize many of us are semi-excited about the news of Steve Perry releasing a new album this year (most of us won't get really excited until a release date is confirmed based on past broken promises). But would that really satisfy his fans? Most of them would be very disappointed if he didn't go on tour to promote the new album, but what would he sing - just the new album? Do you really think he has any interest to try to sing songs from the Journey catalog and Perry solo albums? If he had any interest in that at all, surely he would have reunited with Schon and Cain by now, knowing full well that they are the two who would make him sound the best.

The way I see it is that if someone really wants to do something, they will find a way to do it. If Steve Perry really wanted to go on tour again, wouldn't he have done it by now?

He won't do a full tour. At most, a few planned appearances here and there, and that's it.

If that happens, those tickets could easily sell for $500.00 a piece.

Why do anything? 60 years old, multi-millionaire, living in SoCal, a nice steady income of songwriting royalties (welcome aboard, AT&T), life is good.

Who needs the hassle and aggravation of touring and hotel to hotel living?

Grab a drink Steve and keep enjoying life.

Good question. :D

Say... hows about you pull your lips off his crank for a minute and ask him? Let us know what he says.

WHEN he releases new stuff, he'll do some live shows, not a full tour. Late night talk shows, etc....

Well, I read the first sentence and thought, cool, they're finally getting along. But then I read the second sentence and thought, ahhh...there it is, classic MR stuff. :P

I know you two were just kidding around here but it was pretty funny.

If he can pull it off, I hope he does.

But, that includes a lot of factors within it: his voice quality, range, power, and other physical conditions.

Gee maybe he can play the Ellen show. Hey, Bonnie Hunt has a show too! If he makes it to Oprah, he'd have hit the holy grail of touring!!!

All kidding aside I don't think Perry's nose is ugly. It's a bit large, but not a really big deal. Cracking jokes sure is fun, though.
