OT: Favorite Drug or Drinking Related Songs

Postby Peartree12249 » Sun Apr 19, 2009 11:41 am

Well it's Saturday night and my husband is upstairs playing "computer games"  and I'm downstairs watching NASCAR with the dog. So I'm bored! Back in the day, this would have been my big party night and, well... ok I'll admit it, I've been known to have been overserved a time or two or partaken of an illegal substance in my wasted youth. I'm glad to say I lived to tell about it and avoided prison time. Today, I really don't recommend it. However, after reading some of the posts on MR I would bet that a few of you may have also or perhaps still do. So I'd like to know what's your favorite drug-related and/or drinking songs.

To start things off here's "Sam Stone" by John Prine

"Illegal Smile" John Prine (This song begins at 3:12 you can fast forward)

I tried coco puffs once, Yuch. Cocaine and marijuana don't mix well, and the smell is disgusting.

Great choice 8) GT really rocks this song. Have you ever seen him perform live?

Saw him with Journey and Foreigner opening for the Stones in 81. The Delaware Destroyers blew everybody off the Stage.

Yeah me too, it was either late 70's or early 80's. I saw him a couple of times at Summerfest in WI. He put on an awesome show.

Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!
