Not very good ... 250K or so, I think. It was the last on Sony's label. The same year Sony released Arrival (2001), they released The Essentials Journey (double cd), and the compilation outsold Arrival.
Essentials ended up going platinum. I think Sony was giving a big Fuck you to Journey when they released that.
They screwed themselves too ....
Arrival was done on the Sony Label...so since that cd struggled, they could have put "Higher Place" as the last song on disc 2 of Essentials.... Showing the line up that did it like they did for all the other songs....
Some fans that bought it with zero intentions of buying Arrival could have heard it, liked it, then decide to give it (Arrival) a chance.
Since Time 3 was supposed to signify the band up to 1992, Essentials would have been the perfect vessel to pimp Arrival with, Shit, they could have packed them together for the price of one.
