My wife is a teacher in a girls school, and in accordance with the national curriculum today she had to teach sex education to a class of 12 year olds.
Get this, the girls had to practice putting a condom on a cucumber! Listen fellas, like me your first thought is going to be, "what with their their mouth!". However, it transpires that particular skill isn't taught in schools. Nevertheless, just as the girls were struggling to get the prophylactic in place my wife's teaching assistant announces, "girls, when you are older you are going to be very disappointed"

all your doing is making them more curious and showing them its okay to have sex
"as long you are prepared" how sad......

My oldest brother was a condom-conceived baby according to Mom. Of course, she didn't tell me this until I was in my thirties...never, ever mentioned sex to me when I was a youngster during the 60's.

I would have never said half the things to them I have if they hadn't have asked me the very detailed questions they have. My 12 year old asked me last week when my husband walked out of the room "mommy what's an orgasm, it was on a question sheet and I missed that day in sex ed"![]()
So I explained it all. And she gets a little embarrassed, but then she also knows she can come to me with anything now. And I also tell her how I feel about it all and my expectations of her, and the dangers of sex too young. So I see it as a good thing, even though it seems sad, because of innocense lost or something. But then there ARE girls having sex at 12 and younger sadly. She said there is a rumor a 12 year old in her class is pregnant. It IS happening. So why not prepare them and get a hold of them while they are still young enough to care what you think. My 2 cents
(and trust me, NONE of this was easy for me! My mom told me nothing! lol She cringes when I tell her about my conversations with my daughter

This is precisely why I have a problem with SexEd at this age.
One one hand, you talk about how good it is....on the other, you mention a 12 year old being prego!
Which piece of the cake do you want? You can't have both!
When I was growing up, the idea of a 12 year old being pregnant wasn't conceivable. It really wasnt. Yet these days, it's all in all possible.
If my son, who's now 6, ends up in sex ed classes at 12....I'll be the first parent to make a collosal stink about it. It is not some dumb, piece of shit primary education teacher's responsibility to teach my son about this...it's mine and my wife's. Thats IT!
Fucking Obama and all of the dem douchebags that came before him have ruined what used to be an innocent childhood....at 12, I was fucking playing video games, baseball, and street hockey....not fucking my classmates...

They barely told us what a condom was, never mind the demonstrations.

Yes, 7th grade is 12. And maybe we should blame Obama you learned that at 12 back then too?

At 18, I learned more in two hours from a Whorehouse in the Philippines then I did from all the courses in school combined.

I also went to catholic school and the only thing they taught us about was what a period was.My mom's way of teaching me was to give me a pamphlet and then she asked me if I had any questions.
Oh and she read me an article in the newspaper about a woman getting raped and then asked me if I knew what that word meant.
I learned a lot more when my friend Debbie and I found her 19 year old brother's porn stash in the attic
Now that was an education.
