Springsteen??? That dude doesn't sing, he croaks and rasps! And he sounds hoarse compared to the '80s. LOL!!

You are so right verslibre. He writes great songs but he can not sing. Thank god for his band.

I'm afraid Halford's and Dio's vocal ability is also hugely diminished. However, credit to them for still treading the boards. I can't think of a single singer from the early 80's whose voice today holds up to their past abilities.

well..Halford voice is not like he is used to be, can't reach the higher notes anymore, altough he still got a great voice..on the other hand RJ Dio have an incredible voice, Dio live shows prove that, and his voice still is beautiful and totally show his past abilities..and he is almost 67 years old..grande maesto!

He sounded pretty good when REO toured with Journey, but that has been a few years back.

Cronin is thinner than a piece of paper. He has really gone to shit. Waaaaaaaay too thin now.

Not going to read through this whole thread. I was and am critical of the tuning down, but it won't stop me from seeing my favorite band this year.

I'd say Mickey Thomas as well.
Add Springfield to the Tommy Shaw group as well. He's hitting the notes, just not as cleanly as he used too.

Have any of you seen an EVOLUTION Show? If you have, you would understand why people who have seen there show would rather have Hugo fronting Journey. But as it stands now, I would rather pay $35 to see Evolution than $150 to see today's Journey.

Hugo, while supposedly a nice guy, sounds thin as hell.
Can't believe JDK suggested him for Journey.

I know. When people keep bringing up Hugo, I don't get it. I've always thought the exact same thing, thin vocals and lack of power.

Have not - but I'll give you and Hugo the benefit of the doubt since you and some others insist on it. I'm a big Frontiers/Jeremey fan and I know he sounds much, much better in concert than on crappy YouTube vids... I just haven't been anywhere near floored by the Hugo stuff I've seen on YT

I cant speak for what Evolution sounds like, but Hugo is impressive live when he is singing with Valentine.
