OT - CREED returns this summer

Postby dabstudio » Wed Apr 29, 2009 3:12 am

After a five-year hiatus, CREED has announced the reunion of the band's four original members for a summer run of the US, as well as plans for a new studio album.

The Florida rockers-- vocalist Scott Stapp, guitarist Mark Tremonti, drummer Scott Phillips and bassist Brian Marshall--will return to the road beginning Aug. 6 in Pittsburgh, heading along the East Coast and into the Midwest through September. The 41-city trek wraps up Oct. 14 in Nashville. Venues have not yet been announced. The full schedule is below.
In a press release, frontman Stapp said, "It's amazing how life can change and bring you full circle. Time gave us all a chance to reflect, grow and gain a deeper appreciation of our friendships, artistic chemistry, passion for music, and sincere love for our fans. It's rare in life to get a second chance to make a first impression and we embrace the opportunity. We all believe the best is yet to come!"

No word yet on when the reunited rock band will be entering the studio or when the new record might surface.

Where does this leave Alter Bridge though? I liked Creed to a degree, some pretty good songs, but Alter Bridge has put out some amazing stuff and I think Myles Kennedy is an awesome frontman. Would be sad to see that band come to a halt.

Great news! I love Creed and I'm really excited there coming to Milwaukee in September. I hope Scott Sapp has come to terms with his demons and is happy, healthy and in great voice again.

I agree. I like AB. There CD's didnt catch on as well as they should have in the US. I was wooried about the same thing AB breaking up. I read a few things online. AB will continue on and continue writing their 3rd Cd titled Alter Bridge III. Ab says its about 1/2 done. I also read and I cant remember where that AB might even tour with Creed. I am going to try and find where I read that and post it

Journey is living, or continuing to live from one good song, DSB.

At least provide some factual data when you spew idiocy. Creed, as bad as they may be, has a lot more hits than that song, and the fact they have sold 30 million or so cd's in 4 releases is pretty fuckin' good.

Maybe Journey could open for them?

I care not how many 'hit' songs they had/have....I said GOOD songs. And I'm sure Journey have more hit songs than good ones as well....

Shall we look at a list of their hits?

Torn
What's This Life For
One
My Own Prison
Higher
With Arms Wide Open
My Sacrifice
One Last Breath

I realize that Guitar Magazine had listed Creed as one of the worst bands of the year. However If I recall, Rolling Stone never had anything nice to say about Journey either. Does that mean they suck too?

Just the band in general or specific songs, I'm curious. Alive has been one of my favorite songs since I heard it in high school.

The band in general, actually. They have 2 or 3 songs that have really grown on me but, I'll be honest, I don't know them by name. I'll cruise by youtube in the next few days and give you their specific names.

Oh what the hell, in for a penny in for a pound. I also really liked some of Pearl Jam's music. Their stuff's a little heavy on the angst, but sometimes I'm in the mood for angst.
