Who is AR? Come on Deano! You know who AR is. He was the best member this board ever had.

A straight shooter, never wishy-washy, honest, and definitely made this board interesting! He is an all around good guy, and didn't he put you up for a couple of nights when you guys went to a Journey concert together a few years back?

The best member this board ever had? So good that he copied the likelyhood of this Board and falsely spread it to other sites, fucking with Andrew's copyright and also his right to commerce. Yeah, sounds like an honest guy to me.

As for putting me up two nights, yeah, that was great. I guess I didn't do shit though, like provide him with free tickets, backstage passes, meet n greets, Amtrak ticket to Boston, and oh yea, brought two members of the band to his party. I thanked him for his hospitality, but later was ripped by he and his wife over it.

If there ever was a Hall of Fame for this board, AR would be first ballot, first selection.

I know that STILL doesn't put me here as long as a lot of you. But still, I don't think things are as different as some might think... just seems that way to the ones that don't post as much because they're not knee-deep in every thread. This is the only board I want/have time to post with any regularity on, but I frequent a bunch of other ones, music and unrelated... keeps it fresh for me and makes me appreciate this place some more. This board's only as good as its parts, so I agree, some of you guys need to come out of retirement and get your asses back in the game.

This board has been around a long time. Just because it doesn't suck the band's dick doesn't make it irrelevant.

The, band is playing the same the places it played in the past. The 2006 tour was just as big as last year's, actually it ranked higher on Billboard's list for the 2006 tour.

Steve Augeri also had an A/C hit just like Arnel did.
S.A. didn't have a three disc set with 10 new songs and 12 re-records on it, along with a DVD Selling for 11.99.
He had one disc costing 16.99. Considering the facts, Arrival did just pretty well.
You do understand that one million people have not bought Revelation, right? You get that each package counts as two discs right.
I'm Just showing you that the band hasn't just popped back onto the scene all of a sudden.
Did Arnel bring in a new fan base? Yes.
Will these people buy the back catalog, like Augeri and JSS fans did, probably not because they are more a fan of the singer rather than the band.
So the situations become a wash.

What's great about this place is we have the right to like Arnel or not or Perry or not or whomever.
For a lot of us Journey didn't start in 2007, it began a long time ago. For some the trip ended in 1998, others it ended in 2006 and for others 2007.
Every year one thing is constant though. Neal promises to rock harder, but never does and Steve Perry keeps getting paid as the band continues to push the older albums by not changing up their setlist.

I want to see what the new album brings and what Arnel can contribute.
Looking at Revelation, Perry, Augeri and even Jeremey Hunsicker all got song writing credits. Even Fleishman and Ross Valory's ex wife Diane get credits. But no Arnel.
I'm waiting to see what AP brings to the table on the next album. Can he write? Can he create a melody?
That's what I want to see. Or are we going is going to have the same old song and dance, 5 ballads , 4 pop songs and one rocker?
Is Arnel going to be the hired hand, called in when they're ready to record, with no input whatsoever or is he going to be a contributor?

Does this make me a hater? I don't know and I don't care. And that's what I love about this place. Here I have the right to be either as long as I keep it civil.

All loons are welcomed here, regardless of who is the band's current flavor of the month.
You can't really find that on any of the other Journey related sights besides here or JourneyrockUK.


ONE LAST THING. I think Arnel is a fantastic singer and probably a wonderful human being, but I'm obviously not going to buy an album for those reasons alone.

Well consdering the title of the thread had the word respect in it and we are all collectively talking about people that at least one time or another have seemed to leave the idea of respect out of their dealing with eachother.

I mean the members of the band have not shown much respect for eachother, so I guess we have all followed suit at one time or another. You can look at it from many point of views, and not everyone is going to agree with eachother, It is the way that we address eachother and our views that is where people need to have the respect.

I am new here and posted something that obviously had been addressed before, some people pointed it out, some people acted like jerks and some just ignored it...I read this board for about three months before I ever posted here. I have to say that I had a feeling of angnst beacuse A. I never claimed to be an expert on the subject of Journey and did not want my head handed to me. B. Yes I perfer to only listen to Steve Perry, and this Journey to me...this one makes some of you crazy..C. I do not consider myself a loon. D. I dont' care for AP in the band, but as a person I am sure he is very nice....I think Neal is using him and when it does not work out he will be on to someone else.

These are my views and I like talking to other people about them...but I don't have to swear or degrade people. I like to think amongst the BS that goes on here there are people who want to have real discussions.
