I missed it, what did they sing?

Rat pack. He sang My Funny Valentine

Can you tell me what Adam and Alison sang?

Adam sang New Dawn, New Day (not sure if that is actually the title) and I have to admit I've already forgotten Allison's song - I'm sure it'll come to me, it was something very well known.

Thanks. That ones isn't ringing a bell, oh well I guess I'll check it out when it gets up on youtube.

Yeah, I thought they'd have brought in Harry Connick Jr.
And they were all very good last night. Danny Gokey, who I don't usually care for, was in the zone last night. I think this genre fits him well.

I think that Kris will be going home tonight. His performance last night was weak. I think it will come down to Danny and Adam and I have feeling that Danny will be the new American Idol this year.

I think you have the final 2 right, but Adam will, and should win. Danny has a great, bluesy voice, but isn't near the overall singer that Adam is.

I agree that Matt had the worst performance last night, but Simon has a lot of influence on the audience and he stated that he thinks Allison is in trouble. It wouldn't surprise me if people didn't vote for her because of what he said. I thought she did great myself. Simon must have a personal beef with her.

I worry that Alison has been in the bottom three so many times.

The voters obviously don't rate her voice as highly as some of us do.

But the ones who don't win quite often end up with a better career than the winner.
I'm sure she will get a career out of this.

True, but Danny is more the apple pie and baseball kind of person who would wear the Idol crown with pride, while Adam will be off doing what professional rock singers do - cutting albums and touring with a kickass rock band. I can't wait to see what kind of band that Adam puts together. I hope it's a cross between Dream Theater, Styx, and Judas Priest. As far as what Danny does I could care less. He will probably be busy doing whatever Miss America, Mister Idol, and all the other pageant winners do (walking in parades, kissing babies, riding around in limos, cutting ribbons at state fairs, and endorsing shit). I'm sure Taylor Hicks will be happy to show him the ropes for a small consulting fee.

I actually hope Adam doesn't win because that will push him to be more successful with an album. Let Danny have it, he's got the right type of ego for it.

He's a gay, fucking, cocksmoker that will have a more fruitful career at sucking babybatter down by the spoonful than he will EVER have a professional singer.

sucking cock and finding success after American Idol doesn't mix. Ask Clay Aiken!

Sounds like you're jealous. Clay Aiken has sold millions of records, has millions of dollars and has been very successful, and even found time to suck a few cocks along the way, I'm sure.

Take your homophobic bullshit and shove it up your ass, but try not to like it. That goes for all you homophobes.

Jealous? Doubt it. Cocksmokers have NOTHING I want.

He's a no talant cocksmoker that will be another AI hasbeen.

Aiken's not even selling records anymore...he's pimping himself off broadway...I dunno. Seems to me if I had a successful career selling and touring, I wouldn't hole up in a broadway gig....but that's just me.

Not here to defend Clay Aiken, but he has sold millions, so he's doing just fine. As for gays in the music business, Elton John is a legend and he's been gay the whole time.

I just don't understand why you have to make the comments about homosexuals. Does it make you feel better?

Freddie Mercury, Rob Halford and Elton John are all gay and I think they rock. They don't threaten my manhood or my sexuality. I could never sign on with the Jerry Falwell crowd. I could give a fuck what people do in their bedrooms. When I listen to a Judas Priest song it doesn't make me want to smoke any pole at all.

I thought they all did wonderfully last night.

Adam-always impresses the hell out of me. I liked the white suit and the rock edge to that standard.

Allison-I fuckin' love that little girl, uh, young lady. "Someone To Watch Over Me" is one of my favorites of all time and she put her on little style to it and did an incredible job.

Danny-I thought he was good, but he just not crankin' my tractor. His cockiness is fine, his voice rocks, but he just doesn't have "it", IMHO.

Kris-I thought Kris was good, but just a little boring. I think the boy can sing, but not sure he's gonna be in the finale.

Matt-Matt sang an incredibly hard song to sing. "My Funny Valentine" is one of the trickiest melodies written, and he did alright, but I'm afraid his time might be up.

I actually voted for Adam and Allison last night more times than I should admit, so I hope it helps them both to stay in.

I'm actually hoping it comes down to Allison and Adam in the finale.

Yeah...didn't see that one coming! It couldn't have been more obvious when it was between him and Adam. Speaking of Adam...has anyone else wondered why they always save him for last, or why they only gave him the big-ass set of stairs to walk down last night? It's like they're pushing for him to win. :?

Not true - see my post from earlier in this thread. The last time he went last was top 8. (Sorry, can't figure out how to just link to the post  )

Not true - I believe he has gone last maybe once before (and that was in the top 36). He is, however, always in the bottom half of the contestants and he has never gone first. From the Idol site:

Top 13: Adam 11

Top 11: Adam 5

Top 10: Adam 8

Top 9: Adam 8

Top 8: Adam 8

This weeks mentor actually said AI is not a career and that Adam already had his. REAL music people will sign him. AI is not important to these last 5. AI may be rigged to get ratings and therefore create more revenue. AI is nothing more than entertainment and free advertising to the contestants.

To see Adam in the bottom 3 tonight was a surprise; however, I found myself agreeing with Randy. I found his performance kind of boring last night, it was like watching a Broadway show. Not saying it wasn't good cause it was, no matter the outcome,he will most def be a star.

I now find myself liking Danny, love his soulful voice, or Kris much better. And Allison is killer...good luck to them all...they all rock.

Glad Matt is gone. :)

I liked Matt better. Someone had to go tonight. LOL I still say it will be down to Danny and Adam and Danny will win. Taylor Hicks tonight was a disappointment. I loved Taylor and voted for him but tonight his performance and new song were dull.

It just goes to show that winning this competition has no better bearing on their future success than placing fifth. Danny would make a better pageant king than Adam, so I hope Danny gets it so Adam can go cut an album and Danny can kiss babies at state fairs and walk in parades like Taylor Hicks does.

Adam sang New Dawn, New Day (not sure if that is actually the title)

But if that's the line, I'm thinking that the real title is "Feelin' Good"

It's mos def a rat Pack era song. Sinatra did it and more recently, the Pussycat Dolls and Michael Buble'. Both solid versions.

Adam Lambert doesn't even belong there IMO, there is absolutely no way my opinion will ever change on the matter - he flat out needs singing lessons, flat out. And so do I, we all probably do to an extent, I know that. But this guy is in in the top 4? top 4 singer in America, and he makes my ears literally hurt with those horrendous screeches like somebody scraping their nails on a blackboard, how is that a good thing.

Opinions are like (fill in the blank).

I completely disagree with yours, by the way. He sings that way because he can. Gokey's growling on every other word bothers me, but it's just an opinion. But saying one of the final 4 needs singing lessons? OK, whatever you say.
