Fuck Creed, but how dare you insult mah bebeh Eddie, good sir.

Headlining the Austin City Limits music festival; announced today ...

Yeah too bad I'm in California haha. PJ better come to Los Angeles this year.

Ironically, I'm starting to dig Pearl Jam a little bit. There was a time when I couldn't fucking stand them.

Aha, could Bruce be next on your list?

8)

Wow Bruce, talk about a guy who sings through clenched teeth!

Whatever, it works to the tune of 120 million units sold.

How would you say Augeri sang?

Hey, I'm not knocking the Boss. 8) There was an earlier post from somone bitching about singers who sing though clenched teeth like Scott Sapp (who doesn't) and Eddie Vedder (who does) I was just pointing out that Bruce does as well. And he seems to have done all right.

One album, or more precisely, one song, Born in the USA. That one single video is emblazoned in people's minds. Hell, last night in Philly, he didn't play a single song from that cd. Bruce doesn't sing through his teeth. He is actually quite good, especially live. Hell, in LA last week, Bruce came out on night two, and was very hoarse(the night before was a 3 hour show), and by the time the encore came(6 songs), he couldn't even talk. No one cared. The effort was there and he got through it. NO tapes! You think Neal or Cain would last a week in that band?

Just the early (aka most famous) stuff. In the '00s they got really political...

+1 I completely agree what you on that. My political views or voting decisions are not made based on what some self-rightous actor/singer/musician says. I don't spend my hard earned money to go to a concert to listen to some asshole pontificate about the fucking ozone layer, rainforest, NRA, the war in Iraq (pro or con) etc.

Amen to this !!!!! Pearl Jam was the lamest ass concert I ever went too. EV leaned on his mike and sang like 4 songs. I felt like he was bothered to be there. They even had aping pong table set up on stage. Fucking weird. I use to like this band but lost some respect how they performed live..maybe it was an off show but it was the one I saw.

Creed might have fell apart at the end but I saw them three time and they delivered a great show each time I saw them. IMO they put on a great show and am looking foward to them returning

I'm getting into Pearl Jam lately too.

My girlfriend's been a great musical influence on me. While I stay true to my prog and melodic rock roots, I've been peppering my playlists more with Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, and all that shit lately. Really great music and I regret being so prejudiced to "grunge" for so long.

I still hate Nirvana though.

What's up man?! Yeah, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, and AIC were great. Creed, not so much, but anyway. Grunge got a bad rap from Nirvana... Thayil, Gossard, and Cantrell were all soloing and riffing. Plus, AIC had some killer harmonies and overall great musicality. Good to see you gettin in touch with that side of "grunge." For me, the only thing PJ, SG, and AIC have in common with Nirvana is a similar timeline.

I feel you dude! For me the word "grunge" is becoming obsolete... I just see PJ, SG, AIC, STP, Smashing Pumpkins, etc. as another generation of rock and roll, while I see Nirvana as overrated garbage..

On a trip to the record store, at my girlfriend's urging I spontaneously bought, without having ever listened (beyond select tracks), the albums "Facelift," "Ten," and "Badmotorfinger."... one of the best decisions I ever made, haha.

Chris Cornell is the truth.

STP's another great one. I don't get into the Pumpkins as much as I did when I was younger, but they're still solid. I'll tell you what's great, if you like power pop, James Iha, the Pumpkins other guitarist, has a GREAT solo album called "Let It Come Down." He never followed it up with anything, but man, these songs are great. Beatles, Byrds, Eagles, and CSN influences all over... not sure if it's on iTunes, but if it is, check it out.
