Pacquiao-Hatton Fight

Postby Saint John » Sun May 03, 2009 2:03 pm

Pacquiao absolutely destroyed that trashy Euro. I was a bit surprised with the relative ease he did it with, though. Hatton has the most annoying fucking fans and it was great to see them silenced, but I hope Hatton is ok. He took as vicious a shot as I have ever seen. Hopefully, because they're not very big guys, he doesn't have any longterm problems. But man, did he get his fucking ass kicked. The guy has zero boxing skills and is basically a brawler with no business fighting the likes of Mayweather and Pacquiao. He'll never get a big fight against a skilled boxer again. Pacquiao-Mayweather will be an incredible fight.

I'm trying to decide which ass kicking was worse...Pacquiao over Hatton or the Blackhawks over the Canucks. Maybe Dean would like to weigh in?

Too fast, too strong, too tough...

Hatton was knocked out standing up.

That look in his eyes peeps...is a mild concussion. That shot Pac gave him hasn't been seen since Hagler-Hearns. Bombs away!

My wife and I were quite worried for Hatton after that tremendous left took him down.
Made quite a bundle off of some bet-happy Brits.

The Filipino community must be very happy now. Manny hammered him. I was never a Hatton fan to begin with anyway!

Well done Manny.

Same here. I had to call my wife back in from the store, or she would have missed the fight. Neither of us knew it was gonna end so quickly. When Ricky Hatton went down, we were both thinking this could be really, really bad. Also around that time, I saw Manny go off into the corner and pray. I know that he was concerned as to whether Hatton would be alright. Glad he is ok.

Pacquiao is getting dangeriously close to entering mid-era Mike Tyson territory. You get so good and beat everyone so badly that boxing fans start to lose interest and not want to pay for your fights. He better pray that Mayweather isn't upset in his next fight or Manny is gonna lose the biggest payday of his life. Mayweather-Pacquiao, at least from a pay-per-view standpoint, will be one for the ages.

England, geographically, is within Europe, asshole. Every country belongs to a continent and guess which one England belongs to? Now go suck a fat baby's dick.

Manny's good.. but he's no Tyson... Tyson won 26 of his first 28 fights by knockout - 16 in the first round...

Manny needs to beat Mayweather the same way he beat Hatton, then he can be compared to Tyson.

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

As a human being, we can be glad he's no Tyson. Tyson is an animal. If you believe in Karma, it's no wonder Tyson has no money left. Tyson may have been able to fight, but as a person, he's a POS. Pacman seems like a pretty decent guy.

:)
Problem lies in a cultural versus a politico-cartographic defintion.

I'm from the Philippines, and we, in this regard, are in a similar situation as the UK.
"According to textbooks", the Philippines is part of Asia, but the label "Asian" really
has been an awkward fit for Filipinos. Very few of our mainland neighbours look at us
as fellow "Asians", due to a cultural (and physical) divide.

Looking eagerly forward to Pacquiao-Cotto.
If that bitch Mayweather doesn't price himself out as an excuse to duck Manny,
I'll tune in to that one too.

What part of my response would make you think I was talking about "Tyson the human being???"

It's obvious I meant as a FIGHTER... Tyson's record as a human being doesn't change how great of a fighter he was.. neither does Pacquiaos'. I have no clue whether Manny is a nice guy or an ass.. it still wouldn't matter... cause that wasn't my point...

... that's like saying we shouldn't like any songs Neal Schon wrote or played on because he's a ass... so what if he is... does that make him less of a guitar god? And "if you believe in Karma"... shouldn't Neal be broke, homeless and playing in the subway?
