Dude, are you watching the same game? Ovie's last goal was 40 feet out with Gonchar draped all over him. Ovie used Gonchar as a screen, and Fluery had no chance. That was just one of those great plays that makes a player great.

Dude, yes...I was watching the SAME GAME.

Check out 2:34 (A complete defensive breakdown that allows the Caps to find open lanes but more importantly noone accounting for Ovie) TOO EASY!

.... 5:48 (After a shit performance on a PowerPlay from the Pens, the Caps come right back, win an easy faceoff, you see Cooke completely whiff to try to gather himself to cover Ovie, the result? Leaving Ovie WIDE OPEN with a pathetically easy shot at goal)

and at 7:11 you see another pathetic excuse of defense and AGAIN noone accounting for Ovechkin, leaving him in open ice. Gonchar wasn't draped all over him. Gonchar actually respected his speed skating backwards, and that left Ovie one on one with a defender he clearly outplays, as you can see there is noone around and this is a cake shot for Ovechkin givin the distance of ice he had to work with. This proves that the Pens game plan was outright sad, and they game planned around trying to NOT cover #8. There's no other excuse for such a lame attempt at playing defense in the National Hockey League.

If this last paragraph you are talking about Ovie's third goal, then I guess treetop is right- I have no clue about this sport, the sport I played for 15 years. You all overpowered me here.

If you think that's a "cake shot" then I give up in this thread.

Relax, I see what you're saying and I'm not underlining your 15 years worth of duties playing hockey.. that is all irrelevant to what I'm trying to say.

Now that we got that out of the way, I view the last goal differently. Yes, that might be hard for one of us average joe's to go out there and shoot a shot with someone shadowing you... but this guy is a world class, PROFESSIONAL HOCKEY PLAYER, and one of (if not, THEE best player) the best in his sport. To be givin' that kind ice luxury to play with, and only having to be shadowed by a defense men, with a clear shot to the net and no one else around should make matters easier for that type of player and OBVIOUSLY, by watching.. that's exactly what it was.. cake. He made it look too easy.

Ohwell, if they don't want to guard the son of a bitch, then don't, he'll scorch you 3 or 4 times a game. Hopefully they finally realized who Ovie is, or this is going to be a dreadful series for the Pens.

The way to beat the Caps is to score first(better if it is a 2 goal lead), then play defensively with a neutral zone trap for the remainder of the game.....dump the puck in and play conservatively...think New Jersey Devils brand of hockey....Pens will win if they play that way.

I agree. Problem is, we did score first in both games of the series, and it's hard to play a conservative type of a game when you A.) Can't handle the puck and B.) turn possession over so easily. The Pens have shown no defensive effort for the most part, and their special teams is just horrendous. You must be clicking on all cylinders in the playoffs, or else you'll get embarrassed. I guess this is why it's a 7 game series. We'll see how it turns out.

just because you played pee-wee hockey for 15 years doesn't mean you know how the league will make a decision.

I was going to leave this thread alone, but since you opened your big mouth again and spewed more garbage than humanly possible, I shall stay.

Tell me wise one, if the hit was so fucking clean, and no suspension was warranted, why was there even a penalty?

YOU are the one is clueless about the sport. Go to a few disney promoted games in fun fun Orange County, learn the difference between a blue line and a red line and you are all knowing expert huh? You don't know shit. Your Ducks have the worse fans in the league.

Try selling out a fucking playoff game. Big ad in the Times today: Round Two at the Honda Center. Tickets still available. Ooooh, that hotbed of hockey in rich and affluent orange County, CA. Bettman should give Winnipeg or Spokane this team. How embarrassing, can't sell out a playoff game.

are you serious? you simply can't stay on the topic. once you have nothing more to add, you have to attack duck fans?? ducks sold out 2 of their 3 home games last round. check your facts, or do you just rely on other people not checking your facts? detroit can't sell out their games either, should they move their team? look it up.

fact is disney sold the ducks in 2002. but you don't care about facts. the ducks have a dedicated owner who is making money. meaning the league can do NOTHING about moving a privately owned team. perhaps if obama was running the nhl you'd get your wish, but for now go pick on phoenix who can't even pay their players' salary. start with this list and work your way up, you "douche".
http://www.forbes.com/2008/10/29/nhl-te ... _land.html

no suspension was warranted because one of the following is true (pay attention cuz it might get complicated for you):
a) the penalties called (major interference+game misconduct) was sufficient
b) the refs got it wrong
c) the league got it wrong
d) they heard your whining all the way across the continent and decided to make you look bad.

you throwing all this filth at lula too? if not, then why not? if you are then i feel sorry for her.

dean, you are a petty petty little man. so weak. i like goading you into responding with these predictable comments. it's so easy. you think you are teaching me a lesson, but really you are exposing yourself as the narrow-minded, chauvinistic, partisan, hate-mongering, little man that you are.

what's the over\under amount that your response includes some more fact-less claims? i'd say it's a solid 3, but i'm going to bet it goes over.

i await your diarrhea of the mouth....

Tree...you have b*tched about out of line comments that TNC and Dean have made to you yet you feel that its alright for you to say the things that you do? I don't see where Dean was so out of line in his response for you to feel justified in saying what you just said to him.

so you're admitting that you don't agree with how dean and tnc respond to people sometimes? why haven't you spoken up before? why now against me? i've said nothing that was out of line.

they've said some pretty misogynistic things in the past. regardless of if you agree with me, you shouldn't- we shouldn't let people talk to us that way. disagree with us, but don't think that belittling us because we are women is ok.

Great job by both of you!

Oh my gosh...where the heck have you been? I haven't spoken up before???? Shoot, thats a funny one because I have gotten tons of comments thrown my way for doing just that.
Hey Dean...Tree doesn't think I've ever criticised you before!!
Sorry, but thats just to funny to say...I have gotten on to Dean before on this board..in pm as well....and have been critical of his actions and have said so many times....on here and on another board.

Yes, he and many other men have said very misogynistic things..things I strongly disagree with....and I have said things to others as well that made me a target for a very long time because I pushed back. What you fail to see is that if you respond in kind with name calling in the same way in return then you lose your justification of complaint...you can disagree with someone but you can do it with a better phrased rational to your argument....if you just do the exact same thing in return towards those you are complaining of...well..it doesn't make you any better. Can't you see you do the same thing you complain of ? So it's do as you say but not as you do? You can't have it both ways...if youre going to complain about a behavior then don't behave the same dang way!

I wondered the same thing. Even though he was outright cruel, he was a helluva commodity to this board. He was fun to debate because he'd get pissed so easily, but the dude was money and knew his shit. Where you at, JFB? You're weren't hired as a camera guy for New England's new Spy-gate operation, were you?

Maybe you shouldn't complain about what someone says to you if you are only going to say the same type of things in return.

IF you want to participate in an insult throwdown maylay with Dean then go right ahead..you just cant take a shot then cry foul afterwards when you're fighting at the same level, just as dirty. 8)

2 out of 3 is pathetic. Detroit at least has a valid excuse. They are in economic despair, whereas Orange County is just, artificial. Detroit is Hockeytown, and Anaheim is Carl's Jr.

fact is disney sold the ducks in 2002

No shit sinbad. I know that but the perception will always stay with this team as a circus outfit. Remember your gay mascot, Wild Wing, tried to get loose and hurdle a ring of fire and well, caught on fire himself? That was a good time watching that shit to be sure.

Garbage propaganda by the NHL. What are they supposed to say about the dismal attendance of the Queens and Ducks?

You will follow anything that suits and conforms to your wishes.

Enjoy the games tonight.

I have successfully taught Wyatt not to ever blame a referee. They will never cause you to win or lose a game, although last night they caused Detroit to NOT tie theirs. Oh well. I'll take Anaheim in the Conference Finals. Home ice in Vancouver will mean sauteed duck in 3 weeks.

woo! }=C)

ducks got very lucky last night... they need to play like they are down a goal or two instead of sitting on a one goal lead. 3rd period stunk.

redwing... we met osgood's #1 fan last night after the game! he was telling us why it's important for chris osgood to win back to back cups. hehe. }:C)) VERY animated guy! he was REALLY red... joked that he got a sunburn to show his love for his wings. }:C)
