Hello From The SandBox!

What's up everyone???
It seems like ages since I've been able to socialize w/all
of you crazy fools :)
Well, I've been here since January and "should" be home
in about 3 weeks... I can't freakin' wait!
Surprisingly this trip has gone by pretty quick though and,
while it should be my last trip to THIS country, I am already
slated for a Summer 2010 trip to that OTHER country. Great, eh?

But it's been fun. I got to watch my Steelers win #6!
And I am LOVING the NHL Playoffs, Go Pens of course!

Doesn't seem like much going on on the Journey front and,
as usual, JSS seems to playing and singing anywhere he can :)
He just needs to book a date in Utah sometime this summer!!!

I guess one of the highlights of the trip was a visit and show
from Richard Patrick and Filter!!! They came out to our ramp
and hung out and then put on a pretty fucking incredible 2hr
show... I was truly blown away. And if you haven't got the latest
Filter album, give it a spin... I'd say it sounds like Filter doing songs
written by U2 back in the early 80's; It is pretty impressive.
I even got a nice pic w/the band...
Or should I say THEY got a nice pic w/Combat Carl!!!

Well, I hope everyone is doing well and that I will be able to be home soon
so I can get back to bullshittin' with y'all on a more regular basis; I truly miss
this place!

Hey man,

Great to hear from you. I'm glad you're doing well. I just can't believe how frequently the damn Active Army is deploying people! I know of a guy who's gone 5 times since 9/11. That's a bunch of shit! At least in the National Guard, our guys only go out once every 3 or 4 years. Well that's the norm anyway. Some units never get deployed from here in SC at all. Anyway, have fun on your trip home, and Godspeed to you and your family. I really appreciate all of your sacrifices, and thank you for what you do. :wink:
