OT - Slightly odd request

Postby Arianddu » Mon May 11, 2009 10:27 am

I'm having to sort out my mother's funeral for later this week; one of her favourite pieces of music was Albinoni's Adagio in G minor for strings and organ, but I cannot find my copy of it anywhere. Does anyone have a copy they can download and send me? Not a MR piece, certainly, but I'm hoping at least one of you is as ecclectic in your musical tastes as my family and can help.

Thanks,
Ari

PS - to everyone who's been enquiring after Mamma in the last few months, thank you for your care and support. Her end was quick, peaceful and mercifully pain-free, and I was able to be with her.
Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!

Rick - I owe you - beautiful version, thank you.
Everyone else - thanks for the care and kind words. It's going to be a long week, and this place is always good when I've needed some distraction in the last few months. Her greatest fear was that her end would be long, drawn out and full of pain; as far as death goes, she had the kindest, most peaceful imaginable. I miss her like hell, but I feel blessed that we had time to settle everything, make sure we said everything that needs to be said, were sure of our love for each other, and said goodbye with love and no regrets for things unfinished, unsaid or undone. Few people have that opportunity or that peace of mind.

I'm sure you know that to have that time was a gift to you. Cry... even scream at the moon in a rage if you have to when you hurt from missing her physical presence... laugh and smile at the sun when you feel the joy of remembering her warmth. Always know that she can never fully leave you at all...you are a part of her and she will always be a part of you...you will carry her within you always in your heart and mind so look for her there whenever you need her. God bless, Ari.

Sending you my love too. I didn't know your Mum was ill or that she had passed away.
I know you miss her like hell but you were able to tell her you loved her and say goodbye. That may not mean much just now, but in time, believe me it will comfort you a lot.
My Mum died suddenly and had not been ill. It still hurts that I never got to say goodbye.
Treasure those moments you had together to show each other your love.

Love and hugs.

I am sorry I cannot help you with the music, but here are three words my dying mother used to say to me when I got sad...COURAGE, STRENGTH, FAITH.

"Keep them in your heart and you will see them in your dreams," is what I always tell myself.
