Is Perry going to play this show?
No.
Ok, Thank you anyway.

Isn't that how normal humans talk? I never understood why adults need explanations of other people's comings and goings. My own kids don't ask as many questions as the people on this board. It's just odd is all I'm saying.

I like this.......

It would have to be something deeply personal inside of him to resolve something, and I couldn't ever see that happening.

Really?? MILLIONS??!! I'm assuming the only residuals he received from Revelation were from the retreads.

No, I'm sure he's referring to people buying other Journey albums, as well as all the radio play the older songs have had because of the Journey "Buzz" that surrounded the album, as well as the Cinderella story. I'm not sure if Perry would get any royalties off of the re-records, because Neal and company would own the sound recordings. Not sure?

SP would still get his songwriting royalties from the sale of the rerecords.

Now that is what you call the ball and chain factor.

Neal and Jon made out very well on this deal also. Remember Neal talking about the royalty rate Walmart offeded being so high, it was just too good to turn down?

Not a ball and chain factor if he co-wrote the songs....They wouldn't have existed had he not helped create them, correct?

Neal and Jonathan got their publishing as well...

You can't be serious. It's the same fucking people reading along as the thread expands, Nora. A barometer for a man like Steve Perry returning isn't measured by fucking "views" on this, or any, site! Now go change your loon-soaked panties and take a cold shower!

Read my mind. For Christ sake, there's what? 50 people in circulation in this thread, tops? Maybe not even? This site is possibly the biggest site who has the most hardcore Journey fans that ever lived. This SHOULD gain attention like this.. it's nothing new.

Three thousand are the Arnel plokkers monitoring anything that's happening re Journey or anything that could impact Arnel. So that leaves one thousand for Perry.  Just kidding.

Maybe.

Neal knows his front row ticket lies in the hands of Arnel. AP is Journey's MVP nowadays and the band knows it.

People, the reason a fourth of the world gives a crap about SP is sweet and simple. He was a fixture in so many lives and his sound was different from any other singer. Thats why theres what, 300 Journey covers out there. His voice and being electrified the normal music lover and he created himself as a legend. He is just that, let me tell you. I love alot of singers, but i can't say their in a level as Perry. He denotes the 70's, 80's and 90s. twenty years later, on May 12th in 2009, we have to deal with a heart, gut wrenching letdown.

I had more respect for Neal when he decided to stop answering silly internet ramblings. It's a no-win situation for someone in his position to worry about whether a fan wants to know if a someone is a full-member or not. Who gives a shit if he is a full member? He stands on stage and sings and I am sure he is well paid and if not, who should care except Arnel and his family?

All that said, this Journey internet stuff is like a train wreck I can't look away from. :)

Neal used to monitor the internet all the time, not sure if he still does...I know he posted here a couple years ago... A lot of his decisions have been based on things he's read on the internet. I was told this by people within the band's inner circle. I thought it was ironic that Neal felt JSS took away from the "mystique" of the band by being on the internet a lot and interacting with his fans, but Neal himself would go nutty over things he was reading online.

Well, Neal definitely isn't monitoring Arnel in the same way. Arnel interacts with his fans a lot and chats with them and is pretty honest and emotional during the tour last year. As time went on, I expected to see that change as Journey saw how much interaction he had and things he said, but it never did. They've never seemed to curtail him from that. It's refreshing.

Have to agree there - I think the band went to great lengths to make Arnel more comfortable being away from his home and his culture, and saw a lot of positivity out of his interaction with his fans and friends.
