Not sure how anyone watches tho...unless your idea of hard hitting journalism is "the great american culture quiz" and analyzing celebrity body language.
There is also the little fact that he lies with impunity.
Most notable among them, taking credit for a French boycott and citing economic figures in a non-existent rag, The Paris Business Review.
Or saying US soldiers committed the massacre at Malmedy, when it was the Nazis.
And it goes on and on...
No apology or correction is ever offered, and hell, why should there be.
O'Reilly knows his audience.
Even the way he addresses them, ("the folks"), reeks of patronizing disdain.
Say what you will about MSNBC, but at least they have standards and practices.

Cable news, by itself, is already a small, niche market.
The only reason the Right latches onto cable news like their lives depend on it is because, well, for them, it feels like it actually does.
I wonder just which apocalyptic doomsday horse O’Reilly will trot out of the barn tonight - "activist judges", "socialism", "gay marriage", “liberal media”, “Acorn”, etc. etc.
The stakes are made to appear higher, and the dittohead zombie hordes react accordingly.

If that's what you truly think, I feel sorry for you.
Most educated conservatives I know think the Limbaughs and O'Reillys of the world are a joke.
If you think O'Reilly is a paragon of truth, why don't you start by debunking his two lies I listed earlier in this thread?
I have neither the time, nor a reason to spend hours on the internet researching whatever the hell it is you're referring to. Does he make mistakes? Of course he does. I have heard him admit to his own mistakes SEVERAL times on air. Something I don't think I've EVER seen on CNN or MSNBC.G.I.Jim wrote:Obviously a LOT of people believe in what is said on the network that they keep tuning in.
Wow, you're really going to make the tired argument that "popularity = quality."
I could use the same arguement against Obama...![]()
Following that logic to its natural conclusion, I take it you're a big fan of Britney Spears and Lil Wayne, right?![]()
Uhm....yeah, whatever. I won't even acknowledge such a retarded statement.G.I.Jim wrote:It's not just Cable news either. How about talk radio?
Once again, you're talking about a really narrow audience.
For anyone in the know, the Arbitron ratings system for radio is a joke.
Okay, let me rephrase the question...are there any liberal talk shows that are popular on a massive scale? I don't give a shit how you scale it...Rush is one popular radio personality. So are several others out there.Limbaugh's own claim of 20 million listeners is based on NOTHING but piecemeal speculation.G.I.Jim wrote:Do you guys even HAVE a talk radio station?
Huh?
You do realize the EIB radio network is not real, right?
The talent do not actually own the stations.
Who gives a damn who owns the stations? Did I say "Rush owns a freaking radio station?". Don't think so.G.I.Jim wrote:This is obviously a sore subject with you, so I won't harrass you too much.
Not at all...wanna talk about how Limbaugh got his start giving away his syndication rights to stations for free?
Bring it on.

What is "traditional" about sticking a dildo up your ass while jerking off to a co-worker on the phone, as O'Reilly was sued for?Eric wrote:O'Reilly did correct himself about the Malmedy thing. Thats so ridiculous to even bring up. We disagree but you are WAY better than that.
No he didn't.
As Olbermann pointed out, Fox News even scrubbed the transcript of the mistake which O'Reilly made on two separate occassions.

When something is stated as fact that is bullshit, that is a lie.
Just this past month, while carping on Obama's handshake with Chavez, O'Reilly matter-of-factly stated that Nixon never met with Mao..
Wrong again.
And no correction was ever offered.

You are as bad a liar as O'Reilly himself.
There is no such thing as the Paris Business Review.
O'Reilly made it up out of thin air.

Lol.
What does any of that mean?
The_Noble_Cause wrote:Eric wrote:More people watch Fox news because CNN, NBC, MSNBC, CBS and ABC all feature ONE point of view...and its not the point of view of traditional Americans.
Sorry.
Network TV newscasts (ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS) are straight newscasts ala Shep Smith or to a lesser extent, Bret Hume.
Opinions rarely even enter the equation.
Most of it is just rewritten copy from Reuters or the AP.
As for CNN...to say Lou Dobbs presents the same point of view as Anderson Cooper is laughable.

Funny aswell that I dont think someone who is traditional... can also be independant...surely?
And if by "Pro-America" you mean, "Blinded by propaganda" then definitly.

To anyone with a GED, he already is discredited.
His now infamous YouTube-archived blowup on the set of "Current Affair" shows him how he really is.
I don't believe he was blackmailed.
His latent chauvinism comes out every time he has a hot girl on the set.

Olbermann's fixation with right wing liars may border on the obsesssive, but his facts are airtight.
Care to debunk them?
