They could jam the Florida shows in there.

Yeah they could, its probably gonna be somewhere down south. I remember neil saying that florida was one place where they were never as big as most of the other states.

And they've been known to pick a song or two
Lord they get me off so much
They pick me up when I'm feeling blue
Now how about you?

I think Steve's right... hell, even a wonderfully promoted Frontiers show in Pittsburgh in December probably drew about 50-60 people, whereas Frontiers sells out Cleveland's House of Blues every time. Make of that what you will I guess, and I realize that's Frontiers, not Journey, but I don't think Pitt is that interested in Journey music any more.

I think Matt confused the term "wonderfully promoted" with "woefully underpromoted." We'll give Pittsburgh another shot in July at the Hard Rock Cafe.

Did the newspapers have it in there? I'm not from there, but I mean, in the past few years, I've seen bands like Toto and Survivor come through Northeast Ohio with nary a mention even on Ticketmaster or a local newspaper. The Altar Bar show at least had some kinda publicity behind it. How much are concerts really promoted these days anyway on the whole?

A local promoter did that show, but there was no newspaper, radio, or anything that would normally be done. Many people did not know the Altar Bar existed, as it used to be The Sanctuary and was known as a hip hop dance club. I have also heard, and maybe WastedBeerz could back me up on this, that the warehouse/strip district in Pitt has been on the decline, and the lack of parking made it a tad seedy and dangerous for most folks to be out and about after dark.
We'll see how we do at Hard Rock!

I'm sure you guys will do a lot better. I just talked to one of the guys I was at the Pitt show with and he told me that the Hard Rock area is great. And yeah, I do think the combination of lack of parking, the cold weather, and the "atmosphere" of the spot in general probably dissuaded some.

Of course I somehow found myself wandering the streets of the strip district at 6 am, the taste of Petron and a cold Primanti's fish sandwich in my mouth and a dead cell phone battery. But that's a story for another day...

I was in Texas for 3 fucking days last year and it was 106, 108 and 110. Gayle thought I was fucking nuts jogging 2 miles in 108 degree heat. I made it, though...barely.That was an epic trip.
lol..."The Mimi mobile." Love that term. And her, too.
