Wash your mouth out with soap... then gasoline... and then set a match to it, Sean!!!! I absolutely despise Axl's voice and wouldn't wish it on anyone. Good, God, man! :::shudder:::

While I don't think Adam has the best voice ever, he knows how to perform and gain attention, so he would do well in the industry. I would love to see what Adam does on his own, outside the confines of AI. That will determine whether he has mega staying power or not. I love his individuality and courage for bucking the trend of the boy-band wanabees (like that dude "Justin Timberfake" -- I love that name!). 8)

BTW, hardly anyone outside of Europe and Canada ever got to see Harem Scarem. I never have, and have been a fan since '91. Then they pull out of MR Fest. Classy. :(

What the hell does that have to do with my quote???

Word was that they didn't think that they needed visas, since they weren't to be paid for their performance (just their expenses), only to find out just prior to the show that they still needed them since tickets were sold for the event that they were performing at.

If they were a new band, that never toured other countries before, I'd accept that, but that should automatically be part of the procedure any time the band travels for professional reasons. They really dropped the ball on that one.

Debbie

Not quite sure what exactly you like about HS, but, Harry's solo Cd, 'Just Another Day' is awesome as well... :D

and your 2 youtubes are from Mood Swings, and Self-titled, respectively....have you listened to any of the others, especially the horrid 'Rubber' incarnation?

See? Now there's that "cocky" word again, but still no explanation of why or specific instances of said cocky-ness.

I still see the guy whose wife passed away just prior to the auditions, who almost didn't audition because of it. I never, ever get that cocky impression from him or his performances. I get it from someone else who seems to be skating under the radar to the win.

As you said it's how you interpret their behaviour. And as you also said Danny's "aww do you really like me?Do you really think I'm good" act wears a bit thin after a while. To me that act is fake and his cockiness is thinly hidden under that.
That's my take on him, anyway.
I didn't see Danny's cockiness until it was pointed out on here. But that's where I see him being cocky now. I don't think he's really humble, I think he's pretending to be and is a bit cocky underneath.

Having said that I thought he sang some beautiful notes this week.

He was in my top three from the start and cocky or humble I think the guy has a nice voice.

Kris sneaked up on me in the last few weeks and I am not surprised he is in the final.
I still think he might win. He will get more little girly votes than Adam, I think.

Adam was also in my top three from the get-go but he was way to shrieky for me this week.
As a person who does not like screamers I did not enjoy his songs this week or last week, really.

Maybe it's my tolerance level but I think this show drags on WAY too long.
I think the final should have been two weeks ago with four of them still in it.

I am actually bored with it now.

Very interested to see who does win though.

Funny, I get that from Kris, not Danny. :?

Still not seeing this cocky-ness that you all think you see, but whatever. :::shrug:::

Maybe we are reading way too much into these guys and every little nuance of their behaviour.

They are probably all really nice blokes and we could be doing them all a disservice.

I love Danny's voice - cocky/arrogant or not.
Adam needs to cut down on the shrieking a bit for me. But I think he has star quality.
And Kris.............doesn't really move me at all, but the sneaky little cutesy arsed minkey could win.

I read somewhere that Adam is six foot two inches tall.

I don't think I'll ever forget his performance of Ring Of Fire. That was somethin' else. It really was.

Most people (myself included) thought Adam's 2 songs last week were kind of 'shrieky' - but once again the studio versions are much better. I think he gets kind of carried away with the perfomance sometimes, is all.

I was looking for Ring of Fire video on YT (seems AI is pulling actual video as fast as it gets up there) - anyway - found this guys stuff - hilarious!

I wasn't as keen on his Whole Lotta Love as I was on Ring Of Fire, Mad World and Tracks of my Tears.

He seems to have taken the shrieking to a whole new level since those weeks and has [for my taste] over egged the pudding with that somewhat.

Too much shrieking does not a happy Susie make.

So, Adam, cool it off a little, please ...........just for me.

Anyway.............has he won yet?
Is his album out yet?
Is his world tour organised?
Is Steve Perry singing backing vocals on any of his album tracks?

Get a move on Adam.

Gokey also made a game out of wearing the wedding ring of his deceased wife. He would wear it on the show, but was photographed off the show not wearing it. The pastor of his congregation supposedly told his flock to vote for Danny. At one point it was reported that he asked somebody for a date. Then he'd appear on Idol as the poor dejected widower, wearing the wedding ring. I saw phony all the way. Maybe people finally woke up and smelled the Starbucks.

That Adam-Allison duet was the best Idol moment I can recall.

Agreed!

And I really liked Adam's Whole Lotta Love (I mean come on, who woulda thunk it, Zepplin tune on AI? ) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=suV6viDG4i0

Only complaint I have on that one is, he should have followed Slash's advise a little more and not improvised in his high range quite as much, otherwise I loved it, he nailed the end of that song!

Did anyone else happen to see the segment on O'Reilly lastnight with the guy from Newsweek who thinks Adam will get the shaft by the anti gay vote and that Christian contestants seem to have the advantage? GIVE ME A BREAK!

Here we go.... if Adam loses it's because he's gay and the Christian right teamed up to vote for their guy, right? If Kris does pull this off and these people come out with this crap, I will be so pissed! Way to diminish a victory for Kris and make Adam feel like shit all at the same time.

Chris Daughtry is a Christian... he sure didn't win. I just don't understand why some people feel the need to politicize EVERYTHING!

If Kris wins it will be because all the little girls texted their fingers off for him. We all know the best singer doesn't always win on this stupid show. If people start now with the "he lost because he's gay" campaign, it will be completely pathetic.

Interesting. I've maintained all along the Kris Allen's success on this show is simply because every Mom & kid in the country can relate to him. Funny thing though, a lot of the buzz now isn't that people will vote for him as a vote against Adam Lambert, but it's simply that not as many people will vote for AL because of the weirdness factor. In other words, it's not a gay thing, it's just a Hollywood thing. He's such a great singer and performer that he's too much over-the-top, whereas KA is just that shy little boy next door.

Either way, Adam wins, whether he gets the votes or not. Daughtry has out sold the winner he was up against, so the better singer, the more current singer will always do well.

From RyanSeacrest.com:

Lionel Richie, Carlos Santana, Cindi Lauper, Queen Latifah, Black Eyed Peas, Keith Urban, David Cook, Carrie Underwood are all set to perform during this suspenseful season finale week.

My final comment on Adam Lambert.....

Adam has chops, BUT no soul in his voice.....he emotes NOTHING to the listener.

Kris has decent chops, but he emotes every note, and connects to the listener....

So if you gotta go with chops, I guess Adam is the choice.....

But if emotion and soul are your thing, go with Kris....

But remember this: people on this board have commented ad nauseum about Neal's soulful playing and how that is better than say a shredder, who is about speed and technical ability....

So......choose wisely. Wouldn't want any hypocrites here....

I finally got around to buying "Mad World" (love it) on iTunes - Adam's the only AI contestant that I have bought music from. Sam Cooke? Is that on tonight's show? It hasn't aired here yet.

I'm big on "emotion/soul/passion" in my vocal preferences, and I'm not sure what you were watching, but I thought Adam just oozed it on Mad World and Change Is Going to Come. Still deciding on the AI song they both had to sing, not sure if I like it or not or who did better on that one. Sorry, but Kris' vocals came across pretty vanilla to me after Adam's. I think Kris may do better with a pop song like that last one.

Here's the thing, Adam has soul. I have listened and viewed his Mad World and Ring of Fire performances too many times to mention. They were mesmerizing. He held my attention with those performances and his delivery of a song. Just powerful and yes, soulful. That is so rare. I thought Chris was brilliant on the first song, very soulful. I loved his performance. But the second one did nothing for me. I didn't feel the emotion. The third song neither performer did outstanding, but Adam stood out better. But it was a wash for me on the third song with neither singer winning.
