This has been one of my favorite songs since I heard it in March (?).
"I'm not angry, I'm just sayin' sometimes goodbye is a second chance."

Great lyics, great sound. Good choice, Nora.

Shinedown are awesome. Their Sound of Madness album is fantastic. There are are a ton of bands playing this modern melodic rock sound. This sound is the new 80's.

Here is a a sample of a couple of shit hot modern melodic rock bands

I saw Anberlin live last night and they are SWEET.

I saw Shinedown live six months ago and they are EPIC.

I can't recommend those two groups enough. Amazing amazing.

Shinedown is my son's favorite group so he introduced their music to me a few years ago and I like them as well. Sound Of Madness is very good overall. 8)

Shinedown has a TON of personality... they are instantly recognizable and very passionate about their music.. and put on GREAT shows.

Way to generalize Yulog.. care to share some examples of all these Shinedown clones running about?

I think the 80's may have had the most diverse music.
punk
new wave
rock
metal
r+b
soft rock

The thing was there were many different bands at the top that everyone was aware of, there may have been songs that sounded the same here and there but not like today(not even close). The song above has been done over and over and over, the sound is the same, the vocals sound the same ,some bands have done it better and many have done it worse.

Today we have
rap
country
and this large collection of very similar sounding songs from i guess will call it the rock genre, or left over grunge

Obviously there may be another style or 2 today but the top grossing stuff is country and rap(both of these were big in the 80's as well..not AS big but it was quite popular as well)

The song above is just another representation of stuff being done over and over, not that its a bad song its just like the movie industry recycling the same movie over and over again after awhile it just gets old.

You have to be kidding ,right? These guys have been touted all over the net as nickelback soundalikes. That opens them up to a ton of bands that have that same sound going on.

theory of deadmen
nickelback
submersed
10 years
crossfade
ra
alterbridge
seether
creed
sevendust
edgewater
thornley faktion
evans blue
rev theory

How many more do you need? More Cookie cutter bands that all sound alike(or are similar in many ways), obviously some of these guys are much better at their craft than others. Still, theres literally hundreds(if not thousands) of these bands who are rehashing /piecemealing the best parts/styles of bigger hits made in the past.

After hearing a couple hundred of these songs/ bands ...its just the same stuff rehashed over and over(its like watching all the friday the 13th movies, some of them are good but it still the same old movie over and over) Not saying these guys are horrible, but they sure aren't inventing the wheel by any means. matter of fact they have pretty much done the opposite.
