For Rod, he's really pretty good. But it's kind of sad. I like my memories of Rod and not watching that performance. Maybe I would like the same for Steve Perry, the great memory.

I am going to have to agree with you here somewhat Jana. I couldn't believe how Rod appeared tonight. Having seen Perry in his prime live a half dozen times, I have often thought that I would just like to save those wonderful memories of seeing him perform in concert. I don't think I could take watching Steve come back and perform only to look and sound like Rod did tonight. :(

But we don't know if he would sound that way.....it's still up for debate...and verification, but yes if the voice is gone than no I don't want to see it.

Lar, I love Rod Stewart. Maggie May was always a favorite song of mine. But watching a 65 year old man in an ugly plaid sports coat sing about a young man who should be in school pine for his older lover just doesn't work. He looked and sounded tired and clearly "he picked the wrong song"...

Wow. The emo guy got screwed.

Anywho, not that I care. Journey or Perry weren't featured on this show, so it sucks.
'Nothing was bigger for Journey than 1981’s “Escape” album. “I have to attribute that to Jonathan coming in and joining the writing team,” Steve Perry (Feb 2012).'

Not at all - I'm not surprised and not even disappointed. Kris fits the Idol mold much better and is very deserving of the title. Now Adam can make the kind of record he wants to.

I just means Queen can get their new singer (If JSS isn't the one that is) much sooner.

After watching Kiss, they need to put Journey up there. Journey's energy would be electric up there with the right song choice and Arnel can duet with anybody. He's used to it in the Philippines.

The tweens prevailed with this Iphones and Blackberry's.

Oh well.... it will just keep Adam humble and drive him to succeed that much more.

Kris will do better in the endless parades and mall appearances, spending all his time kissing babies and signing autographs - while Adam is off in the studio recording with the best musicians and producers in the industry.

Tonight was the best Idol show I have ever seen. Kiss, Rod Stewart, Fergie, Queen - it fucking rocked. The haters missed a good show.

I don't know, very well, on how that would work out. Sure, he --Edit: Adam-- can hit some notes, but as I said earlier, he doesn't have that Mercury "tone." All in my humble opinion, though.

I remember when I saw Rod Stewart and he was in his forties. He was great and was all over that stage with his crazy clothes and energy and his voice was strong. Maybe in a small, intimate concert it would be nice, but up on that stage it was not good.

Maggie May was my first favorite song (I guess that dates me), and I thought Rod did a fine job on it tonight for a 65-year-old. I wouldn't have missed him singing it for anything. He fucking rocks.

Probably going to be some mommy and daddy's quite shocked with their teens cell text charges this month.  As soon as I saw Adam performing with Queen, I changed my mind on who i wanted to win. Kris can be locked into an AI contract now, but Adam will be free to do what he wants and I'm sure he'll have all kinds of offers to pick and choose from. I'm sorry but Adam and Kris were like chocolate and vanilla........I guess we'll see who we are still hearing about a year from now. Love how Adam and Alison were paired up in the group things, they seem like good friends and too cute together. Wow, major star power this year!

Freddie would be proud.

Adam could go on tour with Queen tomorrow and it would sellout stadiums and arenas around the world.

Kiss now that is a throw back.......that is 80's glam rock.....I would have prefered another 70's-80's band, but then I guess that would have been too much to ask!

Funny...The KISS songs he sang were from 1975-76....

Those were KISS songs in their prime....the 80's were a KISS that had no make up and looked like any other glam metal band.

So no, Portland, that was not 80's glam rock.

True. Actually they will tie Adam up in a contract too, just like they did with Clay when Ruben won. They rushed to do a record with Clay and had him in a contract. Clay sold more records than Ruben.

I'd defintely call it an upset. We don't have a 35-page thread on here with Kris Allen's name in it.

But then again, this forum is not filled with tweens.
