I love California, but I don't think I could live there. The worst we have in MD is 2 straight weeks of rain (which we just did to kick off May).

Now it's downgraded down to a 4.7. Pffft... easy.

Laura on the other hand, is probably freaking.... she doesn't do quakes well. Probably would equate to my reaction to a tornado. Should be interesting to hear if she felt it or not. She didn't call... so perhaps she didn't feel it afterall. Hmmmmmmmmmm

A 5.0? Wow. I usually feel a tremor even when a mosquito lands on the wall.
It was around 8:30, right? I wasn't having sex around that time, so it's really weird that I didn't feel it. The baby aftermath may have been my fault though. Sorrrry.

I was driving back from the OC to San Diego

Postby ttango1 » Tue May 19, 2009 8:15 am

When it hit, I didn't feel shit cause I was on the 5 South.

My in-laws called though, the epicenter was in Lennox, CA which is in the Southbay Area of LA County, think close to Redondo Beach. Not too much damage and no casualties that I've heard of yet.

But San Diego, we're still here and when Journey arrives in July, I'll be watching them live.

Did anyone feel the 4.1 today at 3:49? I'm on the 6th floor at work in Glendale but didn't feel anything.

Think I was home then probably in front of this puter but didn't feel a thing. Last one I felt was the big 5.

Single worst stretch of weather I've seen the Philly area.

I don't know how people can descibe earthquakes as "fun". They're not terrifying but I definitely don't wish for them. Major annoyance and always the threat of a big one.

I've only experienced one very small earth tremor, in 1986. It was enough to shake the windows, but I couldn't really feel it. My two puppies did though! They'd been having a hard time with eating, because they could concentrate on standing up, eating or wagging their tails without falling over, but not all three. Of course, when the food came out, their little tails would be wagging so hard it would literally be scooting their bottoms and back legs side to side. So for the first week we had them, they would sit down to eat, bottoms still wiggling with the food-happies. First day they got coordinated enough to try this tricky combination of balancing on four legs, eating and wagging, and the tremor came through. Both puppies fell over, lay there in amazement for a few seconds, then carefully got up, tucked their tails underneath them, and sat down to eat. I laughed for about 20 minutes.
Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!
