Now your being silly, vocal technique, contrast along with a R&B background. No, SP nails every facet in vocal control.

I think Simon knew ahead it was Kris, he seemed very subdued tonight, more so than the other 3. Simon was right the other night though when he said.......we've been waiting 8 seasons for a superstar like you! This season was easily the most entertaining by far, mainly due to Adam. No worries on that front, he's definitely going places. :)

I agree, i like AL alot. I am in awe of SP concerning how unreal he was back in the day. And while were on the subject, you know that SP's voice was actually stronger than AL. I don't mean stronger in high vocal range, i mean overall. I looked at Youtube clips when SP was 2 years older than AL now. There is no question, i had time and researched some shows just to compare them.

Congrats to Kris!!

There was too much propping up of Adam... they put Kris in the position of underdog. America loves the underdog. 8)

Freddie would be proud.

Adam could go on tour with Queen tomorrow and it would sellout stadiums and arenas around the world.

8)

Brian May must be hallucinating.....Freddie would be proud oh please.....not in this lifetime. The only one with vocals enough to sing Queen is George Michael. 8)

I agree with this! If I were to see Queen with anyone...it'd be George Michael. He's the only one who really sounds like Freddie, and he would be the perfect fit for the band. JMHO!

I agree with this. While Adam may have the high notes, George has the emotion and stage presence to compensate, not to mention, Michael is so huge in Europe and South America, Stadium shows would be all but guaranteed.

This isn't Karaoke, it's not about who can hit the highest notes.

I agree. I highly doubt that Slash, Queen, or KISS would have shown up to jam with Kris. They all know that Adam is the next big icon to hit the rock scene.

As Randy would say, George Michael sounds just okay with Queen to me:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8c7x2JD_j-0

I'd love to hear Adam sing that song. I'm sure he would nail it, and it would sound much different than George Michael's "safe" version.

Well, Adam can't do anything for the first year anyway, right? Isn't he stuck with Idol for that period? Another thing, Adam has nothing to bring to the table material wise. GM has ten #1 songs he can mix into the setlist. Does Adam really want to be living someone elses legacy while his personal moment in the sun spins by?

Idol is about creating SuperStars, not replacement vocalists for old rock bands.

First Daughtry, now Lambert.

RIGGED.
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

Kris can not sing with Queen..He was so out of his element!! He was like this meek little mouse trying to sing with the big boys..His performance was not noticeable..I just thought please hurry and get to Adam's part..

It was a fun final show tonight...Santana, Rod, Ritchie, Lauper, Kiss, Queen. Kris was surprised he won and mumbled something about Adam should've won. Can't wait to see where they both go next in their career.

Paul Rodgers already said his run with Queen was pretty much over.

“Well, you know, we did a world tour, we did a second tour of Europe and the Far East and Eastern Europe and we did a studio album and I think we’re kind of leaving it there gently. It’s out there for us to do things in the future if there’s something, a huge charity say like Nelson Mandela, I’m always open to that, but I think we are pretty much done.”

Did anybody get a look at the age of the crowds when Kris and Adam went back to their hometowns? That was the age of their biggest voting audience...between 10 & 15. What the hell do they know about talent? They are little kids with cell phones voting for the youngest looking, cute boy. That's it. No mystery as to why Kris won. He has some talent, but his voice sounded pretty much the same on every song.....no dynamics. He isn't in the same league as Adam, vocally. Even Allison was better than Kris. It's probably a blessing for Adam's his career he didn't get the #1 spot.

What a FUCKING AMAZING American Idol finale. I'm keeping that one of the DVR for a while.

KISS, Richie, Queen, Stewart, some of the biggest names in musical history. What did the majority of them have in common? Flamboyance. Rod, Queen and KISS all over the top, theatrical, and amazing musicians.

I think Kris is really talented and congrats to him, but he's not Adam Lambert. Even he said Adam deserved it.

BUT, as has been said, Adam will be able to shop around and really figure out what he wants instead of singing "No Boundaries" for the next year and cutting ribbons at bank openings. LOL

What about Kara? She sang pretty damn good and love that she showed her bangin' bikini bod.

I always thought that Adam doing Queen would be pretty cool, so I was happy to see them come out with Adam, too. My son was thrilled because "We Are the Champions" is the 'Chicken Little song' to him (he's 5). LOL!

Um... Did anyone else notice how Brian May was quite enamoured of Adam and said something to him after the performance while wearing a huge smile, yet Brian basically ignored Kris' participation (or presence, for that matter) on stage???

I'm quite happy that Adam didn't win, because he would get stuck with that wretched song as his first single. Looking forward to hearing how much individuality he'll be allowed to show on his CD. 8)

Thanks Cindi! Will be sure to watch just for that. Will be paying attention for a certain someone in the audience too  8)

Really?! Is our resident Cookie monster going to be there? :)

Yep there shall be a Cookie Monster there  8)

I'll see if I can spot her!

 Didn't see her. But what a kickass finale show for her to see live! Good for her! Ya know I totally forgot all about reading that David Cook's brother just died. Even when he was singing that song and you could see his eyes water near the end, I just thought wow he really got into that one. Not until Ryan said something about it being a rough couple weeks for him did it click in, oh right. :(

What a freakin' thrill that must have been for Adam singing with rock legends like Queen and Kiss! Major star power on stage and tons in the audience too. I only fully watched the first couple seasons, then random episodes over the years, but got totally suckered in after seeing Adam's Mad World and Ring of Fire.

They showed Justin Guerini a couple times in the crowd, he looked blown away by how big the show is now. Little cutie patootie.

Don't get me wrong, I love Jeff ( saw him with Journey at Virgina Beach and became a big fan) but not with Queen. Adam would be a much better fit for Queen.

Adam would be better than Arnel for Journey too. He can hit those high notes like Perry and doesn't have a foreign acccent.
