This use to be one of my favorite songs, period.

I still love the Steve Perry version of this song, though, even that is getting quite tired.

And I usually love when Journey gets so much attention..

But in the last month or two alone, you've had American Idol, Glee, and Constantine and Co. (what is it the musical, "Rock of Ages"?)

,,, all pretty much butcher this poor song,

All of which might have been tolerable, and even fun, if not right on top of each other.

But now even I would be quite happy not to hear this song again for a while.

Not saying drop it from the set list,, that would be silly,

just PLEASE stop letting it be used every second of every freakin' day.... lol
maybe space out the commercial use of it a little better - for the long term health of the song,,,
that's all.

Agreed, the current treatment of the song is not bringing it back to life in a good way but rather making a mockery of it and killing it off by the current renditions plus the over saturation, imo.
