I was listening to the clip and thought I would check out 'We Are the World' - I found a video I hadn't seen before.
This shows a series of his effortless takes and SP having to help out in the studio because a couple of people there can't sing on key!

It was interesting that some were hanging on to the sheet music like it would improve their performance (ahem, Daryl Hall) and Steve just saunters up to the mike without it after the first take and belts it out! Did someone go "Whoo!" just after he sang his first take?

Me too! I wonder if Journey filmed any of their recording sessions documentary style like the Beatles - I would pay a lot of money to buy the DVD. It would also be awesome if they released more of the interviews they did for VH1 BTM. There were hours of tape on each member and so many stories. They really could make an amazing documentary on Journey.

Unfortunately, that's probably true - the Journey camp seems to be tighter lipped than the CIA! (Except for Herbie :wink: )
