I would if it wasn't $250... ($450 if you want Lennon's guitar and Harrison's bass)

Dang, they've done such a great job with the game, you'd think Paul and Ringo could've prepared something more to say. Geez. The game looks like it has more life than they did yesterday. Ringo comes off as such and insincere guy. McCartney usually comes off better than this. Shoulda let George's son talk as he was behind a lot of the work on the game.

Ringo should just not do appearances anymore if he can't be a bit more humble.

Yeah, I agree and I'm THE biggest Beatles fan, they can pretty much do no wrong with me. His conduct over the past year though has just been deplorable. It's like he's drinking again or something. Telling his fans not to ask for autographs (and the way he did it), the dig he made at Liverpool, and telling that old woman to F off who asked for his autograph. What is he thinking?? Ringo's a great drummer, but he needs to remember that he was probably THE luckiest guy in the world to fall into that gig and he should be a bit more humble about it. I think he thinks he's using "that Ol Fab Four wit" but he's not. He's coming off as an arrogant prick.

His son Zak is GREAT drummer.

And yes, I'm very into the Beatles. He doesn't suck, I'm not saying that.
But just being in the biggest band ever doesn't automatically make him "great".

I don't agree. Ringo was a TOTAL innovator as a drummer. He did some stuff that nobody before him had really done and he influenced more than a generation of drummers. Those weird kind of "lefty/righty" fills he did were just weird. If you look at him by TODAY'S standards, then yes, you're correct, he doesn't stand up technically, but he was one of those that set those standards. Seriously, the guy is so underrated as a drummer. Ask any drummer and most cite him as a big influence.

And Zak, holy crap he's amazing. I was bummed that he got out of Oasis.

You are joking, right? Ringo, an innovator? Krupa, and Buddy were drumming circles around this cat in their sleep. There is not ONE thing Ringo did that better drummers weren't doing whilst joking around....he was the silent silent Beatle. He had absolutely no effect on anything that band ever did.

And then there's this: But I still ain't buying it....

Drummer Steve Smith said:

“ Before Ringo, drum stars were measured by their soloing ability and virtuosity. Ringo's popularity brought forth a new paradigm in how the public saw drummers. We started to see the drummer as an equal participant in the compositional aspect. One of Ringo's great qualities was that he composed unique, stylistic drum parts for The Beatles songs. His parts are so signature to the songs that you can listen to a Ringo drum part without the rest of the music and still identify the song.[25]

Phil's bigger influence was Keith Moon and I have the video of him saying it to prove it. If I can't find it on YouTube, by god, I will freakin' figure out how to transfer from VHS just to put it up. When Keith was "out to lunch" the last few years (as Phil put it), Phil actually called them wanting the job, or at least wanting to sit in when they needed someone because how big an influence Keith was on him.

Maybe so, but he's also cited Ringo. I've seen it. It doesn't really matter though, does it?
I was always amazed that they stuck with Kenney Jones as long as they did. Decent, but compared to Moon? There's a local guy here in Seattle that does a great Keith Moon. Check it out:

There's no comparison. I would have loved to see what'd they done with Phil, but by the time he approached Pete, they'd already been using Kenney when Keith was too out of it to function, so they stuck with it. Bleh.

They could not have found a better Keith-alike than Zak. The story I heard was that Zak learned from Keith (instead of his father, the drummer... ) I've seen Zak with them 3 times and he totally rocked my face every time.

And btw, eff Oasis.

Got no problem with Oasis. I loved Zak with The Who too. He's a really amazing drummer. One thing about Collins, since he's in this thread too- I've never understood why that guy used so many lame drum machines in his records. A lot of his solo albums have that stuff. It always annoyed me.

Why not just buy a real guitar and learn to play it?

I've never got into video games. When I see those kids playing with this little plastic guitars in Best Buy it always made me cringe. I figured, what's wrong with just learning an instrument? As much time as some kids put into these games they could learn to play an actual guitar.

What'd be better would be if the game actually taught you to play, but then it wouldn't have caught on like it has.

You're probably right. But it does take a little skill to follow the notes, right?

Maybe someone should launch one with a real guitar and make the player learn to play the notes on it? That would be awesome.

Or you can just do like I do and fiddle with the bass a little bit every day, and try to conquer a few songs on Guitar Hero every day.

Also--- I know three people off the top of my head that STARTED playing real instruments due to GH/Rock Band's influence.

I tried to play it at Best Buy. It was the Aerosmith one on the display...
I was so bad that Steven Tyler showed up, took the guitar controller away from me and hit me with it. :(
