new melodic prog band (mine) that Rush fans should really li

Postby scottkahn » Thu Apr 16, 2009 12:08 am

Hi all,

Alex Lifeson has been a huge influence on me, and if you also like melodic prog bands such as Marillion, Genesis, '80s-era Yes, Styx, Pink Floyd, etc. then I think you'll really like my melodic prog rock band, Days Before Tomorrow. We have a new CD out, The Sky Is Falling, produced by industry legend Ron Nevison (google him if you don't own at least five classic albums from the 70s or 80s that he produced).

We have posted four songs from the CD to http://www.myspace.com/daysbeforetomorrow . They don't capture all of what we're about, but you'll get the main idea. I welcome any feedback you may have to offer, both positive as well as negative.

Best,

Scott
p.s. Fans in the NY metro area can see us opening for Keith Emerson at NJ's Starland Ballroom this June, with tickets available from our myspace page or website.

Thanks, Blueskies!

and in an update to my first post... next week you WOULD have been able to see us play Starland... but Keith Emerson had to cancel his entire US tour due to problems with his hand :-(.

In other news though, we've been nominated for Record of the Year in the 2009 LA Music Awards, and we'll be performing in Hollywood this fall :-).

Sorry to hear about your friends hand.. that's unfortunate....hope it's healed soon. :(
Congratulations on the nomination, though...that's awesome!
From the sound and skill of your band youre deserving of it.
I wish you all even greater success next year! :)

Funny -- no, Keith isn't my friend. He's the most famous keyboard player in the history of rock music, part of a now-classic rock band called ELP, or Emerson Lake and Palmer. We were privileged to be opening for the legend :-p. But it would be nice if he was our friend too :-).

Oh, I'm sorry...I assumed that maybe you had known him for awhile. Maybe the chance to work with him will come again. 8)

We're hoping he'll be well enough to tour again at all... he has been having problems with his hands for a while now, from what I've heard.
