The JSS sound I LOVE!!!

Postby G.I.Jim » Thu Jun 04, 2009 12:02 pm

I just stumbled on this song, and I had forgotten just how great this album was. DAMN this is a good album!!! As much as I didn't care for Jeff as the lead singer for Journey (and also hope he doesn't do the Queen thing!), he is an amazing singer. To me, THIS is Soto at his finest, and I'd kick St John in his left nut if it would help Jeff do another album like this! Just say the word Jeff.

I'm a fan of his Talisman work too. I think it's great that he said he plans to do more with Taliman in the future. It's too bad they could never find a way to tour here in the states though.

Then you'd love their Talisman ~ World's Best Kept Secret dvd set! 2 Talisman concerts on one dvd and a band retrospective on the other, lots of early videos and footage. :) Sounds like he's going to be writing with Marcel again in August or so for possible release next year.

Ill be really excited to see some new JSS stuff written with Marcel. Love the old Talisman stuff. As much as I like Beautiful Mess, the old Soto stuff is still the best.

100% Agreed with the OT. This is the sound/music that JSS needs to do on his next CD. Get some decent touring muscle behind it or perhaps open for a major player, etc, etc. Rock on JSS!

Talisman is one of my absolute favorite projects that Jeff has been involved with.

I've been dying to see a full-blown Talisman show, as I also love Marcel Jacob's playing, so I'm glad that Jeff has been including a few Talisman songs in his solo shows (that is, if I get to see another one! ). Still pretty peeved that the MR Fest audience didn't get on board with "I'll Be Waiting", so they cut it short, and we ended up with 'Plan B' instead. I *SO* would have preferred the Talisman!

I totally agree - I would have loved to hear the Talisman all the way through, but I really think the whole "Plan B" bit was pre-planned.
