The rumor now is that it was auto-erotica....much the same way Michael Hutchenson (sp?) of INXS supposedly died.

It doesn't make any sense. He was in Bangkok. He could've gone downtown and picked up some bar girl for what it costs here for a Snickers bar.

It's kind of hard to not hear about stuff like this nowadays. For example, a friend of mine went to the Philippines three times in the last several years and met two girls that he got to know online. The one he married (she's here now) has been to Bangkok and told him about the the bar girl scene there. Then he watched a three-hour video that a Brit guy made while he was in Bangkok (it's on Youtube, I believe). I think if ___ ever gets divorced (again), he's going to get on a plane and go to Bangkok. He's made jokes about it. I told him to make sure he puts a will together if he does, and to make doubly sure I'm in it!

Btw, another icon of kung fu cinema passed away today:

Hall of Fame H.K. actor Shek Kin dies at age 96+

HONG KONG, June 4 (AP) - (Kyodo)—Shek Kin, a Hall of Fame actor who played the villain character and fought Bruce Lee in the movie "Enter the Dragon," died Wednesday from unspecified illness, his family said Thursday. He was 96. Nicknamed the "Wicked Man Kin," Shek was made famous for playing wicked roles in movies and television dramas in a long acting career dating back from 1939.

He shot to fame after playing the villain against the hero character Wong Fei-hung in a series of kung fu movies and other black-and-white Cantonese classics.

Shek played the devilish role of Mr. Han against Bruce Lee in "Enter the Dragon."

He retired in 1993 with failing health.

Finally at peace.

Always watched his TV show and loved The Long Riders, too. I've got a VHS tape of David C. doing Tai Chi somewhere.

LATEST NEWS:

David Carradine could have died from suffocation or heart failure after an auto-erotic sex act went tragically wrong, Thai police said today.

The star of the iconic Seventies TV show Kung Fu, was found dead in a Bangkok hotel room yesterday in bizarre circumstances.
Police said the 72-year-old American actor had hanged himself, using cords from curtains in the room.
David Carradine, pictured in LA last month, was found dead in a hotel room

A hotel chambermaid discovered his naked body hanging in a wardrobe with a cord around his neck and genitals.

Thai police said they could not no longer treat the case as a simple suicide.
But police commander Lieutenant General Worapong Siewpreecha emphasised it still remained unclear whether he killed himself or died from suffocation or heart failure.

'There was a rope tied around his neck and another rope tied to his genitals, and the two ropes were tied together and they hung in the closet, ' he said.

'Under these circumstances we cannot be sure that he committed suicide.'
A post-mortem was carried out in Bangkok's Chulalongkorn Hospital is likely to reveal the cause of death as asphyxia.
Kill Bill co-star Uma Thurman, pictured with Arpad Busson, enjoyed a close working relationship with Carradine and is devastated by his death
Thai coroners have completed an autopsy, but are waiting on toxicology results before determining the exact cause of death.
His unexpected death sparked a raft of tributes across Hollywood as stars and friends insisted the star was full of life and didn't appear suicidal.
Quentin Tarantino, Michael Madsen and Rob Schneider all told U.S. talk show host Larry King there was no way the actor would have killed himself.
'I am still in a state shock. He was a dream to direct he was a fantastic actor, a great character actor and really one of Hollywood's great mad geniuses,' said Tarantino, who directed Carradine in Kill Bill.
'The thing I cannot get my head around is that there could have been a period of David's long life when he might have been suicidal, but this was not the time.'
Schneider said the star had everything going for him and was really on an 'upswing'.

'This was a guy that was alive. He was a living legend and really people were coming around and appreciating him.
'He could not do all the work that was being offered to him. I am convinced, there was no way that he would have killed himself.'
Madsen hosted Carradine's wedding in 2004 and said that his widow was 'very confused' by her late husband's death.

A Marylin Monroe impersonator stops at David Carradine's star on the Walk of Fame in Los Angeles

'I talked to Annie about that and she said the most important thing she wanted people to know was that David was not suicidal and he was not depressed.

'He was not about to do something like that, he had a job and he was working.'

He probably DID have that Snickers bar-priced lady in the room who got him in that closet all hog-tied. She then high tailed it outta there after their kink session went terribly wrong...

Stars like this may not want it but at some level when you get success and millions of fans, you should have some responsibility for your legacy (children, grandchildren and so on). Hell, at least some self respect. Kung Fu boosted martial arts as much or more than Bruce Lee did.

What's next? Harrison Ford dressed in a Hans Solo outfit slitting his wrists?

Brywool is right. Carradine was an idiot that got lucky getting famous on that show.

Bruce Lee FTW.
