OT--Ratt and Extreme Tour

Postby mikemarrs » Fri Jun 05, 2009 3:16 pm

(PR) Ratt and Extreme have teamed up to bring you this summer's most rockin' tour lineup? The tour, which will feature sets from both bands with Ratt closing, kicks off on July 12 in Amarillo, TX and runs through August 7th in Hampton Beach, NH. It will cross the U.S. and cover 16 markets, with more to be announced soon.
In celebration of the 25th anniversary of their landmark debut Out Of The Cellar, Ratt will be playing the album in its entirety. Both bands are excited about the double bill. "Warren DeMartini and Nuno Bettencourt on same stage, same night?? 'Nuff said, we'll see you there!" says RATT's Bobby Blotzer.

Extreme's Nuno Bettencourt concurs, "One hot summer night. Two bands fully loaded with musicianship. Mix in one part memorable songwriting. Add nine ounces of passionate performers. Throw in three well respected guitarists. Add a touch of West Coast raunch and a hint of East Coast funk. And you get yourself a recipe for one night of unforgettable rock and roll."

Ratt is currently in the studio recording its first new record in over 10 years with famed producer Elvis Baskette . The band announced its new partnership with Loud & Proud/Roadrunner Records earlier this year. The album is planned for release this fall.

Extreme recently released their first new album in thirteen years Saudades de Rock (pronounced "sow-dodge") which is a groundbreaking record that reaffirms the beloved, Boston-bred foursome's stature as innovators in the world of rock & roll.

Want to see Extreme, and am saddened they are "opening" the shows. But I really don't have any desire to see RATT. I can't stand Pearcy's voice anymore. Although, seeing Out Of The Cellar in it's entirety could be cool.

I love Ratt. Out of the Cellar never gets old. Neither does Invasion of your Privacy.

I saw Ratt last weekend at a rock festival. Extreme played too but I missed them. Ratt sounded WAY better than I expected.

I saw RATT on the Invasion Of Your Privacy Tour (with Poison and Cheap Trick). It was a great show. Even though all I remember now is a six-pack of beer coming down on a rope after a Bobby Blotzer drum solo. I also saw the band with Jizzy on vocals and that was horrendous. But most of what I have heard from Stephen since just turns me off. Now Extreme, on the other hand, played one of the best shows I ever saw for the Pornograffitti Tour. Saw them as the headliner at a smaller venue and was absolutely blown away.

yup!
Ratt
RATT?
RATT?!?!?

Gimme a break! Next we'll have The Proclaimers headlining for The Scorpions.
Extreme is a killer band. Ratt is a Milton Berle video. Apologies to the Ratt fans, just never 'got' them.
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

From what I have read they will both play the same length set, it is just the same order every night. Extreme then Ratt. It is considered a co-headlining tour.

RATT rocks. The clip with Round and Round in The Wrestler was better than the GnR intro.

Someone request Uncle Milty?

Just saw “The Wrestler” on Friday and it was absolutely awesome. Just as good, if not better than the hype. Mickey Rourke was amazing and if you were a kid of the ’80s it will really resonate even more. Another nice bonus besides seeing Marrisa Tomei really- REALLY- naked was hearing all the great ’80s hair band tunes. The one that really took me back was Ratt’s “Round and Round”.

Extreme can't possibly have more than a few hundred fans. What a shit band. I'd rather have sauteed dingleberries than listen to them.

You obviously never saw them live! And are you basing your opinion solely on "More Than Words" and "Hole Hearted". If you are than you only know the exceptions. About the worst thing I could say about Extreme was that they were an EVH knock-off on their first CD.
