OT Trev Lukather Band

Postby Saint John » Wed Jun 10, 2009 8:19 pm

Saw them tonight in Hollywood. All original and all good. Trev seems like a sheepish guy offstage, but on it the dude killls. What a band. Great stuff. Guitars and keys are off the chain. Trev's vox are really good. Seems like a great guy with a great bunch of bandmates. Best of luck.

I know this should probably be in the Toto thread, but...who the fuck goes there?!?! lol j/k Just wanna give the kids some pub. Try to get pics and youtubes up tomorrow.

 Wait, let me get this straight? You went to a Cali show in a bar? Not an arena? Saw a band that doesn't have radio hits or sold millions? Yet you had a kickass great time? Enjoyed the heck out of the music? Ok, just checkin'? Image

Trev is great. When I saw him, everyones was on SP alert as Steve had coproduced one of Trev's songs. Trev wasn't to shy at that show but then again, we had Lorrie (MBPL) with us and she put that boy in tittie central. :D

The sun shines on Trev, a beautiful man, and fantastic musician in his own right. Doesn't hurt that his dad is Steve Lukather, Toto - guitarist extraordinaire and singer.
It was a real pleasure to meet Trev and his bandmates. He was very sweet and not so shy. Just fun, and down to earth.

What was impressive about these guys was that their sound was completely their own. I heard no other bands in their music. They're fresh, they're melodic and they're extremely talented. Not to start comparisons (but I'm gonna anyway! ), but I caught a Steve Lukather Band show not too long ago and Trev's band was better. Maybe not as individually talented, but they had much better chemistry and played with an intense cohesiveness. I heard a few people mention how they've gotten better and better with each show.

For Deb...No, I didn't fly here for the show it was just a coincidence that they were playing near Malibu. I had a pre-planned 8 day vacation here.

For Wix...Del Taco is the fucking bomb! Ate there before and after the show!

There were probably people at this bar. Plus, Trev is a newcomer to the business, not a 20+ year never was. :P

Ironically, they did not play the song that Perry produced. Or I missed it. I found that odd.

After Midnight, Del Taco, Carl's Jr. and Jack in the box are the trifecta of afterhours cuisine.
