Do you... have a problem?

She's still pissed that Journey replaced a few singers and chose to go on, apparently. Also it's very clear that for whatever reason, she has more than just a passing dislike for AP.

I have NEVER said that I don't like AP as a person.....I just don't like the music that they have put out with him....and that is my opinion...I do like the songs that Deen has taken on he sounds really great IMO....I know you don't feel the same and that is fine with me.....just don't cram your opinion down my throat.

Want to know what's gets real old? Is when you and Madsplash constantly display your Perry opinions in threads that have nothing to do with Perry...

Let me spell it out to you....If someone wants to sing the praises of Augeri w/ Journey, JSS w/ Journey, or Arnel w/Journey, we really don't need to be reminded on how great Perry was.

Perry is GONE....Fucking get over it.

Start all the Perry threads you want...This forum celebrates past, present, and future Journey.....

But for the love of GOD, can you stop trying to derail a thread that praises Post-Perry Journey.

And as far as your quote "I just don't like the music that they have put out with him" , I call bullshit ..... If it was Perry, back in Journey, singing the very same songs, arranged the same way, with the same lyrics, you'd be praising it like it was the greatest comeback in musical history.

I don't agree with you....but hey it sounds like your the one with the agression problem not me.....

What do you not agree with ?

Are you saying that it's ok to come in and derail threads that have nothing to do with Steve Perry?

Are you saying it's ok to state your opinion over and over and over again in NON Perry threads ?

Tell me professor, what do you not agree with?

Listen I am not the only one nor is Madsplash that has derailed a thread with a comment regarding Steve Perry....and there are plenty of people who restate their opinions over and over again...in Perry and Non Perry threads....so that is the first two things I do not agree with.

Lastly....just and FYI I did like alot for what Journey did with SA....so if I was truly a bitter bitch that needs to get laid (your words not mine) would I say that here?

WTF - I thought this was a board that people discussed their opinions on....so if I am to follow your instructions I should only post my opinions in a thread that has Steve Perry in the title?!

Just want to make sure I understand as I did not get the formal handbook on posting on MR....and I guess you have decided that you are the self appointed thread police.

"I do not feel anything when Arnel sings the very same songs. I'm bored."

That's simply because he's still the new kid on the block, someone we don't quite "know" yet. Sure he can sing, but he hasn't entered our hearts and minds like SP did. If Arnel lasts a few more albums I think we'll get to "know" him better and start feeling that he gels with the band more.

I agree. Right now he's getting a little more love than Augeri did after Arrival. Another album down will telll the tale for sure.

We've been derailing threads forever in this place. If you people want to get bent about it, ask Andrew to ban threadninjas.
Let's see how that works out for everyone.

LOL

I don't think I misworded the last response. I basicly was complaining about specific Perry Loons that derail Non Perry Journey threads.

And even though I think Portland and Madsplash can be a pain, I still find them entertaining in weird sort of way. d

AP is not impersonating SP. Just because AP sings eerily almost like Perry one can say AP is impersonating Perry. Methinks you just cannot accept the fact the Journey has been rescuscitated back from the grave. IMO, you have an issue with AP. That "I can't connect with AP like the way SP does" is a total crap, IMO. I am pretty sure there's more to it than "connection". I pretty much believe you won't be saying this crap if Journey hired a white guy to do the job. But guess what??? methinks AP is doing a great job and he connects right through. Why don't you ask those who recently watched Journey in Oslo and Dublin???

Grow up, child.

Don't start that crap. A lot of people here were very happy with the Job JSS was doing for the group. Last time I drank a beer with him, he still looked like a brown skin Puerto Rican to me.
You're saying, If certain people don't connect with AP like they did with SP, it's because of his skin color? What about Augeri, was that an issue with Wops some people were having then? No wonder you don't post much if that's the kind of garbage you like to spew.

Re SPFIO, I have to laugh when someone who has never seen Arnel says he dresses like Perry and uses gestures like Perry. Not one ounce like Perry in those respects as anyone who went to a concert will state. He has his own unique style and never once acts like Perry on stage, far from it. Even Perry Loon Gunbot will back me up on this. No one has to like a certain singer after Perry. I could care less. I didn't care for JSS in the least for Journey, but respect others, like Deb, who did and loved him. But idiotic statements like I just mentioned from someone who has never attended a concert show, and couldn't differentiate tween Perry and JSS a few months ago, is just what I stated, idiotic.

BB, I don't believe she has any problems b/c he's not white.

Impersonating SP? No. That, to me, would imply that his stage performance is similar to SP, which it clearly isn't. But... AP was hired specifically because Journey wanted to get back to the signature sound that they had with SP. They admit the reasoning behind the hiring here:

http://www.marinij.com/lifestyles/ci_7826224

I watched some of the Oslo clips, and I still don't buy Arnel as the lead singer for Journey. For me, it's his vocal performance of the songs and his stage presence. Don't get me wrong, he has a wonderful voice, and I believe that I'd really enjoy listening to him sing in his native language (although I wouldn't understand any of it, I think it would be more pleasing to my ears). He still has enunciation issues, and to me his jumping around doesn't fit with the type of music they perform.

For those of you who do enjoy this lineup, have at it. I certainly don't begrudge you enjoying the music. I just appreciate the opportunity to share my dissenting views. 8)

Uhm yeah, all that PLUS....HELLO!?! SMFP is a rather swarthy gentleman himself. Further, Journey DID hire a "white guy to do the job". Remember Steve Augeri? Remember that guy? Lot of people didn't connect with him either. So your argument really kind of falls flat. AP, by all accounts, is doing a wonderful job, even so, some people simply aren't going to feel the same connection no matter what.

SP was one of the most homeliest, feminine looking singers out there. That in itself shows just how great his voice was when chics, who would probably never give him the time of day ended up giving him blowjobs in backstage hallways.

Back in high school, my boyfriend was a HUGE Journey fan. I was more in love with Simon LeBon and George Michael. I really liked Journey music but thought SP was really unattractive. It wasn't until the past few years that I could look at him and see him for the beautiful (and sometimes sexy) man that he was. My kids make fun of me because I love the LTS video, with the black spandex pants and the red pirate blouse.

I'm positive you're right, Gunbot!

I think I'm gonna watch that video now... :)

Homely in whos eyes? I think he is cute! Reminds me of a guy I dated in high school. They were pretty close in looks except for my boyfriend was a blonde! Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. Funny he dated before he became famous.... :D :P :P

On that second part........did you watch or something?
