I wish it wasn't so rough too! I stayed up until 3am, and I am feeling pretty damn rough this morning. What's worse, is I'm getting ready to build another 25 feet of retaining wall in my back yard today and that's some back-breaking work...especially when you're carrying a serious headache!  I actually FEEL a year older. :(

Thanks for all the cool wishes and pictures, I really appreciate it. Now today I guess it's time to get back to business as usual. Let's talk about someone and stir some shit up!

Not yet. I sent Michael my new recordings but he wants me to add a lot more keys in it. I think I've already recorded about 12 keyboard tracks, but he's a real slave-driver! I've been working on my retaining wall and yard all day and will be tomorrow also, so it'll be a couple of days before I can record again. I'll keep you posted!

Don't get sassy with me woman!   I wish I had TIME to be lazy. I've moved about 1300 pounds of concrete by hand today, and probably 1000 pounds worth of wood. I've cleaned my grill (it's big...takes a while), watered grass and trees. I dug post holes and concreted in some posts, and I'm down to my last three posts. Once I finish those in the morning, I'll finish building the last 24 feet of my retaining wall. It's about 165 feet long! It's my own "Great Wall of China"!  It has consumed a LOT of my time and energy, as I've done it all by myself. every 4 feet in the wall has a 4x6 post with 160 pounds of concrete in it. If a tornado hit my house...my wall wouldn't flinch!

Tomorrow, I'm finishing up my wall and then I'm going to pick up a couple of Tulip Poplar trees. They are extremely fast-growing shade trees, and can reach 90 feet tall. Anyway...I'm staying pretty damn busy, but I enjoy it...that, and my yard is looking AWESOME right now!! :D

You're wish is my command! :D here's another song I recorded with Spears Creek called "One Father". I didn't write it, but its's a very cool song for anyone who's gone through a divorce. It's about the fact that even though a husband/father may have left, there's always another Father who's always there for us. VERY cool song, and I think it was one of our best!

Here it is, and there are a few more on the way. BTW...For those of you who don't like country...don't click on this song OR the next song. You have been warned!

Here's another Spears Creek song for you. This is definitely our most country song ever, and it's very upbeat! This song was played in country stations in over 40 states back in 2003, so there's the very remote chance that some country fans here heard it. It's called "Common Man". I didn't have anything to do with writing this song. I just played it in the studio, and added most of the backing vocals. It's a very fun song, and it always went over really well at our shows. :D Here it is.... There are a couple of others on the way as well.

Jim, forgive me for being slow to catch up, but when you say you recorded these tracks with Spears Creek what exactly do you mean? Are you playing guitar, drums, mixing the sound...what? I'm not familiar with your music.

This next song was written, played, sang and recorded completely by yours truly. This is a good example of why I don't sing lead! I did this a few years ago and my singing HAS improved since this, but I know my role...songwriter/keyboardist/back-up singer. :D It's called "If You Want". I hope you like it.

Hey Jason, Spears Creek is a band I was in back in 2003. I joined after they had written 5 songs. I wrote and co-wrote the rest of the album, and we went into the studio on and off for 6 months. I'm a keyboardist, and I also sang most of the backing vocals for the cd. The band put a lot of trust in me, and I did most of the mixing and producing also. It was a very cool experience, and I learned a LOT from it. :D

If you're not familiar with me, I also played with Frontiers for about 8 months. You wouldn't know by the youtube clips or anyting posted on the website, but I WAS in the band. It was a cool experience, and I had some very cool gigs. I decided to quit partially so that I could go back to spending more time working on original music and working towards completing my own solo cd. Hard to write or record when you're spending your weekends on the road!

Anyway, I hope you enjoy some of these tunes! I don't write country anymore, and if you'd like to hear my main project, just go to www.myspace.com/jimrykbost . Hope you like my stuff! :D take care.

Very smooth, Jim. Your music is a little more mellow than what I'm accustomed to but very well done, nevertheless. I mean to say that your music is less rockaholic than I prefer, but not depressing by any means. It definately sounds professional. That song you wrote, played & recorded by yourself----mad props, dude. You've got a great singing voice!! Very talented indeed. Thanks for the post. I enjoyed it. And when all these sleepy heads wake up tommorrow morning & check out your post, I'm sure you'll get a lot of positive feedback. I'm signing off for the nite, Jim. I'm exhausted. C-ya.

C-ya.

Thanks man! I really appreciate it. I don't EVER proclaim myself as a lead singer though. I surround myself with others that can do it much better than me. All of the songs you hear on my myspace page have Alex Mark Scott from Italy on lead vocals. He and I have been working on this project for a very long time together. I'm also working on a couple of other projects that you'll hear about soon. Have a great night!

Thanks! I wish I had YOUR talent. I love drawing, but I've never been as artistic with it as the stuff I've seen you do. I pretty much have to stick to drawing what I see. Your imagination in your artwork is amazing, and I LOVE checking it out! Keep posting us some pictures.

JasonD wrote:Jim, forgive me for being slow to catch up, but when you say you recorded these tracks with Spears Creek what exactly do you mean? Are you playing guitar, drums, mixing the sound...what? I'm not familiar with your music.

I agree with Jason. You have a much better singing voice than you give yourself credit for. Thanks for posting these Jimbo, all very good songs.

Let me get the new one done. I guess artists are closet musicians and musicians are closet artists. I love music as much as you do, but lack your talent in that realm. But I still sing. You can still draw............. :D Just depends on what you put your time into......... :D Your call was music.......... and you are really good at it.......good luck in all you do my friend! :D
