Forget art for a second... what the HELL happened to that dude's belly button? Holy shit that is horrific! Looks like he took a hacksaw and hacked himself repeatedly to make it look like a cats bunghole so he can get that tattoo. People are messed up.

Nice work Ginger, very nice. I see alot of Dali on your work. When I first saw the one with the cats, if that guy didn't have the beard and the owls on his head, I would say it was SP. Like on the other posts on here though I could have sworn that he said he didn't have cats anymore. And all the others keep saying he beats his cats. And the baseball game and the hot dog, he doesn't eat meat. I know it is all in fun, but I am with Andrew, it really isn't respectful of Steve. If that man wants to come back he will, if not he still has his legacy. Again beautiful work.

I'm guessing a hernia scar.
Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!

Thank you, but I guess I don't see SP's nose at all in this guy. His nose is too bulbous on the end. I have drawn Steve and his nose, I use his nose in many of my characters in various shapes, but close to the same crook. The beat the cat thing is a running gag. Nothing really personal that I have gathered.

The cats were added as the danger factor to the picture................the baby owls were afraid to fall out of the precarious and unstable nest to their fate below......... I added the tilt to the guys head to make it look as if they were going to fall out any time. Life is precarious. Dangers come in sweet disguises.............the cats pretending to be friendly, where the one in the back is licking his chops.

I did a painting of a man made of cheese..............mice are in his head coming out of chewed holes in his ear and the top of his head. In the background if you notice......a can of rat poison sets with green goo coming ot of it. The man is giving the mice cheese............the cheese has a slight tinge of green around the edges.................you do the math.

A4P your artwork is very interesting. The Owls in your one picture are Spotted Owls, native to Oregon, the reason our forests have been closed to logging in many places.
They are very cute to see, so smart, with those big eyes. I am very impressed with your work and the other artists who posted here. You all can really draw!
I also wanted to say that I enjoyed this entire thread because it felt nice seeing the talents of other MR members. I think musicians are such creative people that
they have a lot in common with artists, also creative people. I'm creative, but do not consider myself an artist. I just like making these fountains because the sound of water is relaxing to me.
These are examples of the table top fountains I make.

These fountains I made in the landscape around my house. There is water running everywhere inside and out.

Very pretty........be careful of pumps for fountains though. Shut them off when you are not around, some have been known to catch fire!

I built one for a sculpture class once made entirely of dustpans and pvc pipe! It turned out pretty cool! It was 6 ft tall. The dustpans were red, yellow and blue, then tie-dye spray painted..........It was colorful to say the least.......the pics don't show that well. It had colorful pinwheels spinning when the wind blew..........the project was on movement.......and since I am an education major, I made it to appeal to children, complete with kiddy pool! I wanted a round one, but could not find one that season.

Love that fountain design! Very cool and colorful. Was this a class for adults or children? By the way I use commercial pumps in my fountains (Little Giant) so they run forever without any problems or fires. 24 hours a day for 12 years so far.
So, is sculpture what I'm actually doing in making fountains? I made two sculptures from the White drywall stuff, like soap that hardens and you can carve. The head was carved out with a knife from a big block of the white drywall stuff, and the other horse was a relief. I made a clay design and poured the white stuff into the clay and let it set up, then peeled off the clay.
The carving was my first piece, and the relief my second piece in my life. I took two semesters of sculpture when I was in college as electives. My teacher told me I had some real talent there, but I'm saving working on sculptures until I'm old and have nothing better to do.

Here are the two I did in that class.

These aren nice! :D Thanks for sharing them! I am not much of a sculptor. I am not that good at building things, concepts yes, building no.........Me and power tools are not friends. Though I will use a miter saw.

Yes the class was in college. The problem we had to solve was motion and movement. The pinwheels spun constantly, and the water rushed down it constantly.

Hey Ginger....

Remember when I said that I'd love to see Maxfield Parrish in a traveling Art Show of some sort...?

Well...

Be careful what you wish for:
There IS an exhibition of Mr. Parrish, along with Norman Rockwell and others RIGHT NOW.....

in Newport, Rhode Island.

 ....which I did NOT get to see, because we went to see The Mansions.....oh well........ :(
