Obscure Journey tracks

Postby StoneCold » Thu Jun 18, 2009 12:31 am

Before digital I would've placed LRDS as their most obscure track. Not on an album, only a B side to Still They Ride.

What other tracks would you consider?

P.S. For Hoagie and anyone else failing the Journey Fan Test (LRDS = La Raza Del Sol) :)

Little Girl. Sure, it's on an "album". But more people probably have any of the three pre-Perry albums than Dream After Dream.

Agreed! I have it, and that's personally the only song I like on the album. Just a very weird album for me. I guess that means I'm not a "fan" according to Monker. What a douche!

Didn't even remember this one. Had to hit the Time3 set. Good track, anyone remember year? Sounds like Rolie keys and fat Schon guitar so I'm guessing Dep/Evo years.

Only Solutions was tough to get before Time3. Now you have another drastically different version on the Frontiers remaster as well.

That version made it worth the price of their dvd alone. I was very impressed with Cain's organ skill! He did an awesome job, as did the rest of the gang. And YES Stevew2...I said Cain and organ in a sentence...let's hear what you've got!

most of these obscure tracks are better than what actually made it to the albums.

Little Girl should NEVER have been an 'obscure' track. One of the best songs they EVER recorded.
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

Bah.
A BALLAD???

Love the harmonica, harp and soft "wooooo woooooooooos" at the end, though.

True. I forgot to add it to the songs I love on Departure when I was on another thread and discussing why I love that album so much. It's on the remastered Departure.

Obsure Journey Songs

Postby tbear1256 » Fri Jun 19, 2009 1:25 pm

:P :D

The song Frontiers from the same title CD, I think this song was over looked.
It may not be obscure but I think it may have been forgotten.
Take a listen to it again and see if you agree.
This song was way ahead of it's time when it first came out.
I have been re-listening to all my old Journey CDs and this song just stays in my head.
I missed it the first time around and now I can't get enough of it.
So what do you think about it?

Peace.

We all know about Frigas organ skills.I thought that was one of the best song live that they did. Augeris vocals were soaring,Neal was kicken ass and Friga did a great job on the organ leads, That song was much better than the original.

Odd for a regular track on one of their most famous albums, but you've got a point. That song is hardly ever discussed or even mentioned.

The intro sounds very RUSH like (Grace Under Pressure). Some cool little sounds and interesting lyrics. Except for BT and Troubled Child, most of side B from that album are pretty much forgotten.

What's the first thing Perry says at 00:32?
