You are not qualified to say
Well, I have it, and he's right...Even the 'new' songs sound like 80s nostalgia.
...and what is wrong with that? Sure don't want them to sound like the current genre out there!
Pete, can I call you Outlaw Pete?,

you want them to sound like 80's pop,
still? This is where they lose all respect. No one is ever going to argue the talent the band carries, however, many will question their courage to play something different(which they never do), and try to remain, relevant(there;s the "R" word again). The critics, I'd say most of them, rightfully categorize Journey as "not serious." I could have used many words here, but the fact is, any band can rely on a sum of popular hits made in their heyday. Yeah, they had a killer 7 year or so run, but have done nothing after 1996, to merit any respect. They put out the same old tired type of songs, same type of lyrics, and a lot of the songs sound the exact same; with just different titles. They got miraculously lucky to find Pineda, and what do they do? Continue to be a jukebox band, playing the same old tired songs and same old tired sound. For God's sake, you have a singer is a chameleon, use him. Reinvent yourselves, take a fucking chance! Friga won't allow that although I bet Schon would agree to to gamble a bit.
