I think what we're hearing is the pre-recorded backing tracks and none of the live piano playing. Because at times you can clearly hear the synth parts, but pretty much ZERO piano. hmm....

Someone suggested that for the webcast, the piano somehow didn't make it into the mix. The synth, however, did make it. There are bootlegs from people in the crowd and you can hear the piano just fine.

I was so hammered... It was the first of many great experiences with the friends I've made though going to Journey and Frontiers shows. Ed's party was one of the highlights for me. I guess cause I was a 'Journey virgin' before that night. After we all came home and posted about it here, though, I remember I was chastised for misbehaving. It was just a broadcast issue...you can hear the piano in the crowd videos, but for some reason it's (and possibly the bass too?) missing from the video mix.

Whether the synths are live or prerecorded, I don't know.

Neal and Arnel are totally exposed with the Piano missing though, and they're awesome.

The fact that there's no Piano in the mix really exposes any flaws in the singing and guitar playing and well, there aren't any.

I think perhaps they were 'rainy day friends', Tree, from the way I see/saw it. Neal wanted SA out, and Dean gave them a reason to do it. Maybe it was the old adage of "keep your friends close, and your enemies closer". IDK. I never heard the thanks Dean mentioned, but I do know there was partying with the band going on, and not just with JSS. It was a good time back then, and I wouldn't trade it for the world.

I think it's further evidence of Neal's dedication to no one but Neal. My honest belief is that Ross (and Deen as well) were just 'along for the ride'. I find those two to be the least "guilty" in all that happened, but that's just my distant viewpoint.
