From the best produced Journey DVD out there after Houston 81. If they can't get Steve Perry, get these guys to produce their DVD's for them. Youtube doesn't do it justice by a long shot.

The original DSB improv that Journey reintroduced this year.

I greatly prefer this one to Houston. I love Neal's tone here and the way Steve A. sticks closer to the original studio recordings when singing than Perry did live.

There's something about All the Way, that make me cry everytime I hear SA sing it.... I just can't help it.. It reach deeply into my heart and just turns it inside out.

That outro on DSB is among the worst things they've ever done.

Took a good song and just squirted a whole canister of EZCheez onto the end of it.

I have to say I used to like the Vegas 2001 dvd. But the over done pitch correction started to do my head in! I only watch it for Higher place, All felt so false otherwise. Augeri's vocals feel so strained as he's singing in the wrong vocal quality throughout... probably what started his problems. Can't wait for the manilla DVD though!

Having Arnel do it now just makes it sound more fake, They should just adlib iinstead of scripting it. Let him ramble along in tagalog or something, just change it up somehow.

They should be sued for this release. There is hardly anything live about it. That thing has more studio vox than live.

A complete joke. This is the release that got them busted for lipping.

Really? You mean "Higher Place" and "All the Way" sounded different (those were my two favorite performances on the DVD after "La Raza Del Sol").

Nah, I just mean when Perry purposefully deviated from the original melody it got on my nerves. I like that Steve A. stuck closer to the studio takes since those are what I consider to be the definitive versions. When I hear Perry alter vocal lines or sing along with Neal's solos I always think, "You're doing it wrong!" lol

Check the backing vocals on Captured and the Houston dvd. Note how many different layers of Perry you can hear.

Yeah. My daughter and I drove 9 hours in scorching desert heat(No A/C, usually 6 hour drive), and I thought it was decent. Oh how wrong I was.

This has nothing to do with the early years, but I hate the way they sped up the classic songs on the ROR tour. So wrong.

That must have been rough. That's some dedication right there.

So fixing vocals in post makes the show you saw bad? :?

What do you call that, a case of retro disappointment because you are pissed at the band now, so you un-enjoy a concert you once enjoyed?

Naw, you can all enjoy what you think is a great band. I was once where you now are- they aren't that good let alone great, but hey, whatever turns you on. Any band can play the same old tired songs every night out. Any band worth their salt can play their hits in their sleep. I am interested in bands that make good decisions, don't screw their fans over, can play a deep cut live once in a decade or three, and are still viable in the industry. Journey is hardly a serious player in the music industry.

Enjoy.
