This coming from the man so consumed with bitterness that, to quote Steveo, he "unenjoyed" a concert with the band? Hell, IIRC, you once said that a concerted you'd attended with Steve Augeri "just may" be better than anything with Perry.

Pardon me if I don't find you the arbiter of what is and what is not intellectual.

I'll get right on that; how did you know that the two of us were such good friends?

Rockindeano wrote:Smith is a vocalists dream drummer.

This coming from all of your professional vocal experience?

Rockindeano wrote:he knows when to and not to soften the strikes and hits around words.

You make it sound so sensual... do I detect some sort of man crush?

Rockindeano wrote:Perry loved Smith.

Who gives a shit? No one was dissing Smith or even saying that Deen was better. And how do you know he wouldn't love Deen more?

Arnel doesn't know better or frankly could care less what the fuck is happening behind him.

Proof?

And then you can explain how that's relevant.

Sorry, I was too busy replaying our last little slugging match, where you threatened to "lulz unleash teh beast" or "kick my ass" or some other contrived threat and then, a page later, you backed out.

Keep it up, Deano!

You sure about that? Personal? Um, no, I think I was rightly correct with its personnel, as in plural, people in the band. Personal? Go back to English 101. Nothing like correcting, or trying to correct someone who had it right the first time, calling him out, and you yourself having it very wrong. I can write you under the table little boy.

Well played, sir. :D

Not really, no. The fact that I screwed up (admittedly so!) doesn't mitigate the fact that you, Captain Intellectual himself, screwed up repeatedly initially. And at least I spelled "personal" right.

You just proved you have not an intellectual take on Journey , its' history or it's personnel. What a dumb fucking statement.

Castronovo can't carry Smith's sticks and he knows it too. Ask him if you don't believe me.

Gideon, you know not what you speak of.

If Perry loved Smith so much, why the ousting for ROR?

IMO Smith is better than Deen, but not by the huge margin some are making this out to be. At least not as far as playing for a rock band goes. In fact for Rock music, Castronovo might have a slight edge. Now, if we are talking Jazz or Blues or fusion, well then Smitty takes the prize.

I love Smitty's finesse in drumming. It's really something. But after all these years I adore Deen on the drums and with the band. My dream would be to see Rolie on stage performing with the band now, and that's including Cain. Just a big jamboree up there going back in their catalogue. Come on, Journey, you can do it. Make it happen for a limited run during the U.S. tour. :D

Please show me where I said you wanted to use the word "personal." This is largely irrelevant, but something I've come to expect from you. As someone who is all bluster and illusion, it's only fitting that the only weapon in your arsenal is deflection.

Try it on someone dumb enough to fall for it, which is likely restricted to your immediate family.

Rockindeano wrote:No, I win. You will never beat me dude, never.

Your very fragile ego notwithstanding, it's pretty hard to find a person around here who doesn't beat you on a constant basis. If you'd like, I can go hunting for the thread in which you tried to take Deacon and I on, begged us both for a throwdown, saying you'll kick all our asses or some such, and then a page later you begged for respite. I think Arianddu remembers it quite well.

Colorful. And cute.

It's always fun to see an unsuccessful, overweight middle-aged fuck up declare his undying grudge against an eighteen year old when he's not attacking four members of a legendary band whose only crime is simply being more relevant than he is.

Keep it up, Deano.

Hey Gideon. Why do you keep arguing over other peoples oppinions? Who cares if someone spells a word wrong. You really just got to chill, man. You know, Smith is by far, without any doubt, the best drummer Journey ever had - there's a lot more to drumming than smashing the drums senseless. :)

Posts like these are the things that only make situations worse. Dude, go back and read what I said. Seriously. Go back one page and read it. I didn't argue shit. I gave my opinion: nowhere did I say that Deen was a better drummer than Smith. Nowhere.

In fact, the reason this whole argument started is because Deano crawled out from under the fucking bridge that serves as his lair, decorated with colorful anti-Journey sentiments and a poster of Bruce Springsteen taped to the underside of the bridge (his brand of viagra), and told me that I was flat out wrong, lectured me on my intellect (all the while making the most laughable of grammatical errors), and flat out made shit up so as to cement his e-thug image. Basically, the entirety Rockindeano bag of tricks.

I'm all for arguing, I'm all for debating, I'm all for disagreeing, but I didn't do shit.

This was all him. Fact.

Unsuccessful? I am? Overweight? about 25-30 pounds. Fuck up? Yep, you bet. Grudge? I have no grudge against some meek smart ass 18 year old. You crying now that the 43 yr old is picking on the all knowing 18 yr old? Don't like it, don't play. Grudge against a legendary band? Hardly. I would call it disdain, and souring on a once legendary band. Journey are hardly legendary with their 6th lead singer playing the hits made 25 years ago. And relevant? Whomever said I was trying to be relevant? I can tell you right now Journey is not relevant in the music industry. And as for Springsteen, Journey couldn't play the same stage with him ever.

Talk about deflection? LOL, try again junior. Let me know when you get your bachelor's degree.

Nope, not at all. Once you can prove that you can hang with me, and not embarrass yourself with all kinds of stupid shit masked in higher then needed vocabulary, I might pay you more attention. Until then, go cheer lead the new Journey single, album, concert, whatever. You know nothing of which you speak.

We have all seen how I degrade you on other forums? Hmm, I don't visit other forums. Unless you are reading the numerous Springsteen boards, then you once again have spewed yet another fat lie. You on the other hand, pay visits to those other shitty knock off sites and YOU talk about me.

Totally agree with that sentence. Love Smitty and he is technically better, but I prefer Deen........could watch him for hours. IMO more of his personality shines through when he plays, he loves what he does and it shows. My dream would be to see Rolie on stage performing with the band now, and that's including Cain. Just a big jamboree up there going back in their catalogue. Come on, Journey, you can do it. Make it happen for a limited run during the U.S. tour. :D

Totally agree with that sentence. Love Smitty and he is technically better, but I prefer Deen........could watch him for hours. IMO more of his personality shines through when he plays, he loves what he does and it shows. I bought the Journey 2001 dvd on a lark, and totally fell for his infectious, smiling, happy, big rockin' style......right from the first song Separate Ways http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k55eZumb ... re=related

That was my take on it, but Rockindeano says you can't think that.

LOL, music is all about passion/feel for me, not technicality. To be honest, kind of a revelation for me, one of the very few dvds my attention has been diverted from the vocalist. Dude's got some pull. Nothing against SA, but I found myself trying to look around him to watch Deen.

I agree. Great, great asset to the band. Watching him playing the drums and singing Mother Father is really something.
