It is completely base to speak ill of the dead. And to speak ill of a deceased man you never knew and choose his passing as a moment to hop on a ideological platform (not that I don't agree people who hurt kids should rot in hell, I do agree) and drag his name down unnecessarily is heartless.

Frank, T... you guys should feel ashamed. Cut the man some slack. It doesn't matter now anyway. He's dead, God will sort him out either way the story goes.

One person who will be devastated is Diana Ross, even though they might have drifted apart over the years they had one of those unbreakable bonds.

Written for Marvin Gaye but appropriate here as well , I think.

Si, I don't have certainty about that, actually for me he had perverse structure characteristics...but for a fact you are right i don't know, actually i think no one know for real (unless the person beside the childs was there) that he was or not a child molester...now no matter what, his dead is a sad new. From the artist point of view, nobody can't beat him, as the King of Pop...the guy could write, sing and dance like anyone else,he used to fly on stage!!

When Friga goes, or Neal, I won't dance on their graves and trust me, they have pulled some terrible shit as well.

Thanks Rhi, but hardly. I feel that history usually gets it right. Sadly, history was too easy on Hitler, Hussein and Musselini. Unfortunately, I see the same thing happening with Jacko.

And you are right, God will sort it out. I have full confidence and faith in that. But I am also entitled to my opinion regarding the man and his disgraceful actions while he was alive.

Why is it that it is ok for people to celebrate the deaths of people like Hitler and to recount their horrid actions, but not ok to speak the same of a child molester?

+ infinity

And for those who aren't sad over his death, at least think for just a minute of his family. This is huge and it's all playing out in front of every camera on earth, and they're not going to have a moment's peace for a very very long time to come. Now think of your own family going through it. It's sad.

I mean, this news broke so fast that some of his family found out by watching tv.

Peronally, the more his public downward sprial played out, the less interest I had, but before 1993, I was a fan... I grew up with this music, and I still enjoy most of it. What happened after... well, I don't condone any of that, but it's no longer a matter he has to answer for on Earth.

One cannot get into Westwood(UCLA) right now, so Sarah, you aren't missing anything.

I am sad because the dude was a influential being in music, but his accomplishments weren't as great as I am reading here, but we can discuss/argue that at a later date.

Tito you slimy piece of shit. You would probably celebrate an Obama assassination too wouldn't you you sick turd. Just because the guy was not the best human being alive, doesn't mean you need to use his death to make yourself look good, and by the way, you look anything but good right now.

Lula and I were just talking about this. She mentioned MJ's passing is probably bigger than either Lennon's or Elvis, due to the fact MJ is a truly international figure. He is known in every nook and cranny on Earth, whereas Elvis was an American god for the most part.

The man sold out 50 out of 50 shows! Apparently, there's a fairly large group of people that still felt he was relevant. Here's more:

Invincible was a (2001) commercial success, debuting atop the charts in 13 countries and going on to sell approximately 10 million copies worldwide. It received double-platinum certification in the US.

One of Jackson's first documented public appearances since his trial was in November 2006, when he visited the London office of the Guinness World Records. He received eight records, among them "First Entertainer to Earn More Than 100 Million Dollars in a Year" and "Most Successful Entertainer of All Time". Jackson was awarded the Diamond Award on November 15, 2006, for selling over 100 million albums, at the World Music Awards.

Lastly:

During the investigation, Jackson's profile was examined by mental health professional Dr. Stan Katz; the doctor spent several hours with the accuser too. The assessment made by Katz, was that Jackson had become a regressed 10-year-old and did not fit the profile of a pedophile.

On any other day I would argue you on this, but not today. We were also talking about how as the news networks are covering this, the vast majority of the talk is his courtroom days, weird behaviour and criminal charges levied against him. When George Harrison passed away, you didn't hear anything negative. When Lennon passed away it was all good talk. When McCartney goes, or Bruce passes, it will be big like this but I doubt you will hear any negative talk like you are seeing now. It's quite sad that he is going out with a multitude of question marks.

Quit being an asshole Tito. That's Michael's sister for crying out loud, and she's going through a world of shit right there! If that were your sister running to the hospital for you, would you want people taking pictures and making fun of her in a desperate time like that? Not cool.

You can think what you want about Michael, but there's no reason to be an ass and tromp on the guy's grave. He was never convicted of any crimes in a court of law, and unless you were there...they're just accusations. I'm definitely not saying he didn't do anything...just saying he was never found guilty. Nobody will ever really know except the accusers.

I highly suspect he was guilty personally, but it's not my place to cast judgement. What he's done, he's answering for right now to God.

Either way, he was an extremely talented man who gave us a lot of cool albums and performances to remember him by. RIP Michael. I hope the family can find some strength in knowing how many people he moved with his music over the years.

Just please show some respect for the dead.

I have always said that Michael had a very interesting lifestyle, put himself into very dubious positions, publicly, and that he was not very wise in some of the decisions he made, but I never thought he ever did anything to a child. As far as the accusations go, with someone like him, it's difficult to know where the sensationalism ends and reality begins. I believe that his view of life was skewed compared to the general population (for good reason) and I imagine its difficult to live in a cocoon and have a firm grasp of reality at the same time, possibly the result of his bad decision-making. My prayers and thoughts are with his family, especially his children.

Peace.
