This guy for a 40 year old has a ridiculous voice!

It's just incredible. I'd been looking at APs videos for about a year before he joined Journey and I was blown away, particually by Faithfully, Alone and Help. Just some amazing stuff.

Favourite from the solo album:

Freebird (this youtube version is really bad quality unfortunately)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MEmNLrPgGW8

My favourite covers:

Heart - Alone (amazing note at 2.28)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-tK1BPcT_sk

John Farnham
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mOG44Ccm59E

So yeah... post your favourite AP videos... Journey/Zoo/Solo...

I'm at work, can't link. I love his Farnham cover also. Many I do on YouTube. The Faithfully clip is what sold me on Arnel, something about the power of his voice with his tenor range just blew me away. Never did I expect him to end up having such energy on stage from those little clips of him just standing there belting out songs. It was definitely a leap of faith for Neal to choose him, and Neal's gut instinct for once was right. And contrary to what some say on here, I really feel Arnel sings with emotion and I connect with that when he performs.

Rock on, Arnel. 8)

Arnel is the true second coming of Journey. But......thanks go out to Steve Augeri, who's presence helped keep the band alive and bridged the time to where we got Arnel. It's alive and kicking, baby! Can ya feel it? :D

Postby ttango1 » Thu Jul 02, 2009 3:15 am

Well, not really, but...I was the guy that first came up with the name...PLOKKERS.

It's the sound the old NING chat would make and I said,"We're all a bunch of crazy plokkers.

And it sticks like this...I want a cut of the trademark!!!!

Arnel is the lead shepherd of the "Plock". 8)
Pineda -"I'm just here to celebrate the legacy of Journey."

Yep! I was in awe over how great he did when I first met him. After more then twenty years, I still feel the same way. Sometimes I find myself analyzing all of these memories and I come to the understanding that it was all simply just meant to be. Wish I could just snap my fingers and be at Kong's.

Why treat life as a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in an attractive & well-preserved body? Get there by skidding in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand, chocolate in the other, body totally worn out, screaming WOOHOO! What a ride!

Sort of funny, last night I had a dream with Arnel in it. This has happened before, always just about things that had already happened and whatnot like being in the club in the Philippines again and stuff like that. But last night my dream was different the all the others. I dreamed of something that had not happened yet. In my dream I met up with Arnel in a house, not sure who's house, but he and I were there and some other friends of his were there too. He had this video that he wanted to show us, it was a video that he'd been working on with the band. For some reason the video player wasn't working good and so we couldn't see the entire video. In the video it showed the band in a blue American classic muscle car.

Don't know what to make of all this.

No more BT style shit ,, Arnel is a talented singer , but I don't see how this thread shows him any kinda appreciation since he doesn't read here ,You wanna appreciate Arnel , go tell him in his own shout box and maybe few filipionos will even boost your ego and invite you there for the next show.

Andrew has said over and over again that we dont need any appreciation threads.

I took it to be kind of tongue in cheek with respect to the starting of the 1,000th Perry Loon thread saying Loons only and hence the title, Fans only for this one. At least, that's the way I read it. So I'm sure you've gone into that thread and stated the same thing as here.

Never was....but I was going to suggest a term (already in use) of endearment for Arnel fans...so that they can have their own perryhead/loon identifier...

It sure is.

1st of youre talking about the LOONS... get it ??? NO CURE for them ?:P
Secondly, there is a HUGE difference between some fans trying to give their appreciation to a once great but now not so great singer Perry, vs Arnel who is in his prime now and is actively singing in a band.
Basically, creating a thread like that for Arnel is like throwing a retirement party for someone who just started working a year or two ago :P
