MADRID SHOW CANCELLED DUE TO INJURY
We are sorry to inform our Spanish fans that Chickenfoot cannot perform their July 1st show in Madrid due to a serious injury to drummer Chad Smith. Chad was performing on stage last night in Paris and during the show he hurt his right arm badly. He has torn his small bicep and cannot play the show Weds July 1st. The band is very sorry they cannot play for their Spanish fans this week and plan to return as soon as possible.

Why is the Chili Peppers guy drumming for them anyway? There are plenty of drummers looking for work.

Oh, did I say I think CF is a dumb name?

Maybe because he's the drummer Sammy was jamming with when they "formed" the band?

Chad was really the catalyst for forming the band...

I saw Chickenfoot last week in London and, to put in mildly, they were incredible. One of the best gigs I've been to for... er... ever! It was one of those shows that you look back on in years to come and think I'm glad I was there, to witness the birth of what could become a world phenomenon in rock music.

Even at that show, Chad stood on his drum stool to acknowledge the crowd, fell off onto his kit and had to carry on with blood pouring down his arm. He is one crazy drummer, but it doesn't surprise me if he's injured himself.

I feel sorry for the Spanish fans who'll now miss out on such a great show.

Haven't followed Sammy much lately. Guess they can't just swap him out then. Still a dumb name though. Chickenfoot, LOL.

CD's not bad though.

Thank you. I was just going to post I hate the name Chickenfoot. For some reason, I always visualize a severed chicken's foot. Why severed I don't know.

Chickenfoot started as a joke name but people got used to it, and they kept talking about it, and the peace symbol/chickenfoot is great imagery...so they kept it. It may be a stupid name but people know it and remember it...and that is what a new band wants/needs.

You got that right, how can you forget it?

I'm sure I can think of other bands with dumb names. "The Cars" is kinda lame 'til you hear the music.

They could've picked up the Planet US name and did a play on that. Anything with the word planet would've been remembered.

Exactly, and it seems to have worked great 8)

There are tons of weird or dumb band names. I think of bugs when I hear The Beatles, lol. Or like someone mentioned with Boston, how about all the other "place" band names- Chicago, Europe, Asia. Or how about Toto- all I think of is the dog. Or how about Yes- is there a band called No?

I think the way they used the imagery was a great idea too.

I just hope they don't start doing any advertizing for KFC. When I see and hear the name, it brings back memories of when I would be at a chicken stand out on Magsaysay at night, waiting for my 15 peso half chicken on a stick to be done. I would just stand there looking at the chicken feet on a stick cooking there and wonder for the life of me why anyone would eat bbqed chicken feet on a stick. Ain't no meat on that.

Never questioned his ability. Didn't know the history.

Whenever someone from an established and successful group joins a new venture it either signals an end to said group or minimizes the new project as being well, a side project.

I'm doubtful the Chili's are quitting and I hate to think this another one off for Sammy.

He's got almost as many one offs as Neal.

I'm hoping for more from CF. The cd is good and rockin', not HSAS good but still not bad.
