My first signed music memorabilia item...

Postby Ehwmatt » Sun Jul 05, 2009 12:41 pm

Just got my "buddy" Todd Rundgren to sign my new Gretsch Electromatic Pro Jet. Pretty cool and a nice guitar for the price too! My fledgling guitar collection ain't comin along too bad, either. This is really the only musician autograph I got besides a signed America DVD... I coulda gotten Lukather's a while back but I didn't want to bring my guitar into the little bar I saw him playing.

I am not big on autographs, but Todd Rundgren signed my ticket stub last summer. And I used to have a Frontiers album signed by all the members of Journey. Oh, and I have Neal's autograph somewhere in the house along with a pick from a Bad English show.

I don't know that much about Rundgren, but whenever I do hear something about him, it's always in a positive light. Like he's a very smart, charitable man.

I got a ton of signed stuff fro Journey, but only 1 with Perry's signature on it.

Guitars, music, albums, cds, shirts ticket stubs, I have all those things signed, but I dont' ask for items to get signed anymore anymore though.

Rundgren's one of my faves and one of the smartest men in the business. His production doesn't get the credit it should - he's up there with the heavyweights. Then there's his music, which I love from Nazz to solo to Utopia. Check out Todd's latest album, "Arena." Lots of big guitar tracks on there.

I own nothing that has a signature of anyone famous on it. But I used to love going to Hard Rock Cafe in Tokyo back in the 80's to eat dinner with my now wife and look at all the shit hanging on the walls that was signed by famous musicians. Would that count for something? I was there when L.A. Guns signed a guitar, which was then hung up on the wall there. Still remember sitting upstairs looking in the face of King Kong hanging off the building looking into the window with the red eyes.

Cool guitar, Ehwmatt! :)

I have a cd cover from each of my faves signed to me.........SP, JSS and EM.

Then at NAMM this year, Cindi (Renegade79) popped in on an EM signing while she was there and got a picture signed that she took at Melodicrockfest of him and JLT. Is she not the coolest friend evah!! :D

My dad, a cab-driver, has the fortune of picking up the odd celebrity now and again on his get-abouts.
Out of the blue Jimmy Page called for a lift one day and apparently they had a nice chit-chat on the way.

My dad came back later that day with a special message from Mr. Page himself, addresed to me.
It now sits above my bed and is fuel for all my ambitions.

Fuck man, send me a ticket down to GA (right?) and I'll be there. I don't have shit to do up here right now... the only sport I got is the second-worst team in baseball. I need the Browns and Cavs so bad. Hardly any concerts here this summer so far too. I've only seen Frontiers so far (and that rocked).
