Why? As a solo artist he does not really fit the criteria that RRHOF uses. One platinum solo effort won't cut it for RRHOF, and he probably doesn't measure up to their defininition of "influential". If he goes in, it will only be with Journey.

Don't f*ck with Dusty. She was a rock pioneer, and the amount of female rock vocalists who give her props would make your head spin.

She was a great singer, but how in the hell was she a rock pioneer? Your confusing the difference between innovation, and influence. I've heard many female singers list her as a big influence but no one that has ever called her innovative. Since she's in Celine Dion sure as hell better get in. Just as influential and sings miles more than Dusty ever did.
Innovation is one of the big bullshit catagories that the hall stands behind, when it's convienant for them to do so. I like AC/DC but they didn't do anything that hadn't been done before. Meanwhile a genre of progressive bands aren't in. Pink Floyd is the closest thing, but Rush, Yes etc.. invented a whole different style of music and they're ignored.
The hall is an inconsistant joke. If they want to call it the Music Hall of Fame, that would be better, but Grandmaster Flash isn't rock and roll and had no influnce on the evolution of rock and roll.
A joke.

Only 6%?!?! That's about 5.9% too much!!! He's the voice of a lifetime, but his solo career, or lack thereof, is not worthy of any sort of HOF. He'll go in with Journey in 2010 or 2011.

They aren't going in. Be realistic.

I think both go.
My views on who should be included have changed in the past couple years.
Gregg
Neal
Aynsley
Ross
Perry
Smitty
Jon
I used to FIRMLY believe Deen and Steve A. deserved to be there for helping Journey continue but with Steve gone I step back. And Deen is a very tough call still. I think Deen, Steve, Randy, Arnel, George, etc should all be AT the ceremony and maybe even jam but I think the above listed names are essential.
Of course all of this is hypothetical since I still don't see Journey-love from the RNRHOShame.

I like your list.....but the chances of them a jamming on a stage together are about the same as me winning the lottery tomorrow....but we can all dream!

That's one double, almost triple platinum and one gold that is slowly climbing it's way to platinum.
Just sayin.

Either way, that's not anywhere close enough to be considered to be voted in as a solo artist.
If Journey goes, he'll be there and all will be right with Journeyland.

2011 or 2012 at the latest. I do believe that it WILL happen as well. Just not as fast as it should.

I wish I shared your confidence. I think Perry & Co. are about to become eligible for the songwriters HoF. Perhaps they have a better shot there...
